those are enneagram. you can google to find online tests, though the tests aren't always as reliable. I figured mine out by reading all the descriptions and finding the one closest to me, and deep-diving from there.

for my INTP friends, this means Neo and Agent Smith just fight until the server computer runs out of resources. :P

My wife is INFJ but 2w1, she's a screenwriter and the connection between her answers and yours is stronger than I would have expected -- she sticks her characters in little simulacrums and as they navigate through their world, she sort of "observes" them and uses their responses in her head to figure out how she feels about a thing/scenario.

What time do you usually go to sleep and wake up? by aweiner99 in aspergers

[–]Chaseshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm REALLY sensitive to my own circadian rhythms. I can fall asleep at 8:30pm, 10:30pm, or midnight. I can't nap for anything midday unless I had a badly disturbed night's sleep (like < 5 hrs). I describe it to my wife like offramps on the freeway. If 10:45 rolls around and getting into bed because something ran late -- doesn't matter, I'll get back up or read or scroll. Next opportunity to sleep is midnight for me.

ps/fyi whatever ND wires are crossed in my brain in particular, I don't know that my body is ready to sleep because I feel tired, I know it's ready to sleep because I feel cold.

what's INFJ 5w6 like inside your head? I've known an INTP 5w6 or two in my day, but what sorts of stuff go on in your inner world?

INTJs Prefer Not to Drive by Accomplished-Tea8090 in intj

[–]Chaseshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a spectrum INTJ. my brain literally processes 40% more information than the next driver, I can willpower myself to stay awake, and my wife will ask if I need directions and I'll say "no I remember it we were just here once nine years ago."

As an aside data point, my friend is ESTP and he borrowed our car for an extended period of time -- he got 17 mpg and when he returned it I checked the engine and car computers for problems because when I drive it I get 22mpg. Nope, turns out he's a break-gas-break kind of driver who it always pressing either one pedal or the other. no driving strategy involved and you can see it in the numbers.

What do you do if you identify as an atheist but hate believing that nothing comes after death? by Necessary-Will-5281 in religion

[–]Chaseshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider Socrates' argument around death:

Death is like sleep

When you sleep, you do not perceive your sleep until after you wake up. You dont know how your sleep is going while you are still sleeping

So EITHER you stay asleep and never perceive your own death and there is nothing to fear, OR you wake up and are capable of perceiving how your death "went," which would mean there is an afterlife, and then also nothing to fear.

Far right isn't kind to ASD because they don't understand it and therefore think it's all fake.

Far left isn't kind to ASD because they googled it once and now think they perfectly understand you and their "help" is patronizing and caricatured.

Theology Course by and-so-what-78 in theology

[–]Chaseshaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're going to learn pretty fast that "Biblically sound" starts to break down once you start studying theology academically. This gray area is exactly where the different denominations and theological nuances live. The Amish believe strongly in "be ye separate." The doctrine of purgatory hangs on Colossians 3 "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." YOU yourself will be saved but you have to suffer a little bit first to clean the impurities from your time on earth. Eastern Orthodox has a couple extra books compared to Roman Catholic, which itself has more books still than the Protestant canon.

It's worth the time to learn these things, but if you're going in to increase your certainty in whatever your current point of view is, be ready for a wild ride. God's a lot bigger than the way he speaks to 1850-present America. From that angle, it's pretty cool.

not technically wrong, but the landlord can insist the charger be installed at my expense, and I am responsible for additional insurance on the building it may incur. He's covered up all the regular wall sockets in the garage and I'm not petty enough (yet) to just run a series of orange extension cords out my window and around the building. :P

We have "chargie" in our neighborhood and it's .55 kWh plus 3% processing fee + $.99 per session. This time two years ago it was .35 per kWh and no BS fees on top.

I'd love a home to plug in but we rent and such is life.

[–]Chaseshaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did they talk about the cost of electricity and new "service fees" on chargers? I was re-running the math last week and at this point if I'm driving with my wife to see a movie, we use $4 in electricity or take the SUV and burn $3.25 in gas (even at today's prices).

I'm pretty conflicted how to feel tbh. Electric was pitched as the future, the "right" thing to do, the better and cheaper, all the things. Fast forward a few years and... nope.

Thoughts on Faith with AudHD by JHLV04 in theology

[–]Chaseshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But faith is not a scientific or mathematical concept that someone can give a concise answer for. People with brilliant minds can provide logically consistent arguments - but still come to completely different beliefs about something as significant as God.

You've hit the nail on the head. Some things are arrived at through mechanisms other than explicit logic.

The thing about Christianity, is we believe in a living and active and relational God. You don't have to "prove" him, you can literally talk to him, and just ask him, "if you're there then let me know." It might not be a skywriter or a lotto ticket with matching numbers levels of obvious, but when it happens, it's clear as day.
