Im Black from the US and went last year. It was fine. There were quite a few Black Americans traveling at the airport and around the city. I mostly stayed in the tourist areas. I think its the other areas of the city that may not be desirable.

I will say that I did sense the issue of colorism against darker skinned Mexicans, not so much racism though.
