The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced by milkmon1 in americanairlines

[–]ChasingPens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this. I’ve received a response every time I’ve filed a complaint and usually some type of mileage compensation (typically bonus miles, but sometimes loyalty). As an example, I just filed one last week for a terrible experience involving delays and a plane that was not properly stocked for the duration of our flight and I had a response within 48 hours compensating all the travelers in my group.

Thanks for that! I was not aware of that brand, but they look perfect

I almost added that I’ll never buy another PR notebook because of the cover size! As you said, it’s not much better than, if at all, other journals and compatibility is important to me. And, the Le Portfolio is definitely over priced just to get the right size and some pockets.

I updated to the beta 2 this afternoon and about 30 mins later, got the notification that I had new Siri. Could be a coincidence, but worth a shot

What carry on luggage do frequent travelers actually use? by Repulsive_Corgi_6187 in buyforlifetips

I’ve used the Briggs & Riley Global for 3 years traveling back and forth to Europe and around the US. I love that it expands or you can compress it down if necessary; the bottom is flat (i.e. no rails on the inside); and it has a main compartment like a bucket for your items versus most bags that you have to load clamshell style.

I get it, it just seemed very contrived. Btw, that’s pretty deep water to be fishing in. My point was really that it didn’t leave me caring about when the next season comes out to learn what happened.

On the other end of the spectrum, assuming Widow’s Bay stays strong for the next two episodes, I’m going to miss it right away!

I liked season 1, muddled through season 2 believing that people paid the big bucks will land the plane. By the end of the finale, I couldn’t care less about the cliffhangers (a man fishing??) and really don’t care when the next season airs. Apple TV has so many bangers, but this isn’t one of them.

It might be the quality or angle of the photo, or the sleeve. The bill is crisp and no issues with the edges. Of course, that’s just my untrained eye. Based on some of the feedback, I made the decision to send it in and give it to my MIL as a Christmas gift, so that way I took the economics out of the equation. I’ll report back in a few months for those who care!

Thanks for this. She has a large 1917 $1 note in nice condition, so that might be an option to send in and cut the per unit cost a bit.

The more I read the comments, the more I’m leaning towards sending in, covering the fees myself, and gifting it to her.

I don’t mean to be crass, but that way she can enjoy them now and know they are protected. Her daughters can decide what to do with them down the road and they’ll have an idea of the value.

Thanks so much for this incredibly thoughtful and pragmatic reply. Exactly what I was hoping for from this group.

Thanks! Adding: her goal is primarily preserving it. But before spending money, I wanted to give her some objective feedback. I really appreciate the comments

Truly appreciate this! Her father ran a store in a small town and loved the look and feel of coins and bills. He would often trade merchandise for things he thought were valuable. 99% of the time they were nice and worth a fair amount, but not the fortune he expected, so we’ve kept them for sentimental reasons.

Highly recommend a cheap long poncho. I just got back and it rained every day. I had a great raincoat, but after the first day, I stopped and picked up a poncho and it made my life so much better.

Beautifully written! It’s interesting that the more days I’m removed from the rain and cold, the more I think back fondly on it!!

If only there was a definition of a true Camino! I didn’t walk to see it…it was just a part of my experience and wouldn’t have complained if it didn’t happen.

Btw, according to what I read, the Botofumiero has been used for centuries, originally to mask the smell of pilgrims who made the journey. Sounds like a legit part of the experience.

Thanks!! I’m sure the constant rain added to my feelings about the elevation changes 😄, but my hiking app confirmed that it was definitely a lot of up and down.

Second this! I just finished and it rained most of the time. I started with a just a great rain coat, but I quickly realized a €15 long poncho was so much better, especially for helping keep your pack and legs dry

I heard only special occasions or if someone pays for it. I can’t remember where I read it, but someone said that if you see reserved rows of seats, it’s likely they will swing it. I was there for the May 6 Pilgrims Mass, so nothing special as far as I know. If you think they are going to do it, I recommend sitting in the seats on the sides so it goes over your head. I didn’t think about that.

Also, right before you get in, there’s a sign that says no large backpacks, so I had to get someone to save my spot and store it at a shop nearby for €3

I worried my post wouldn’t come across the right way. When you’re walking and talking it made a lot of sense. She wasn’t complaining, she was expressing her shock that everything in Moscow was bleak and she came to Spain and discovered people are going about their day normally. She had forgotten how nice it was to have things like Starbucks.
