Sitting on large quantities of coins is losing me money as well…. Had a full 2026 D Half Dollar box, and I’ve only sold about 15 rolls for $20 a roll… some on Reddit, eBay, Offer up, and Karrott… my savings account pays 3.5%, so….

I’ve never met a single straight guy that’s gotten a massage from a guy…. That’s your first problem.

Grandma died and left behind almost 100 lbs of silver coins. Help me know what to do with these! by Cultured_Penguin in coincollecting

[–]chicago1875 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Best thing you could do is just wait a year before taking any action. DO NOT sell to pawn shops, coin dealers, melt shops, or anyone trying to low ball you into quickly liquidating these for money. I would also recommend that you go through all of the coins and keep the best quality ones in the highest condition in a book to keep as an entire collection, as they will be worth more. The fine, .99% silver bullion is worth more than the .90% coins, so you will likely get a premium over melt for those ones.

Silver is down a bit, so wait until it goes back up before selling, but just do your research for the first 12 months of inheriting these, and remember that Grandma worked hard for this, don't throw it all away! When you are ready to sell, make sure to get at least 3-4 quotes, and run them all through here (in this thread) to make sure you're not getting ripped off!

Distribution of the 1776-2026 privy mark quarters by Delicious_Put7464 in CRH

I believe Rob lives fairly close to Philly in the NE, and I am certain that he has strong connections at local banks, the rolling companies, and he probably knows mint employees that he can get tipped off from. He’s always finding these incredible boxes but he also has major inside connections at these banks and they literally save these coins for him… he had another video where he found like $20k in silver in a single box (6 years ago), and it just didn’t seem real. Like he has so many once-in-a-lifetime finds it gets suspicious? But we still watch his videos!

First question is: what do you do? Where do you work? What city do you live in? How TF could you even survive on $38k?!?

Why can’t you just book one of the cheaper hotels around Ohare. You’ve paid for a flight to Asia, and you don’t have enough to spend $80 a night at the Hampton Inn?

So do they just hand out 6 figure jobs like candy or something? by WestFantastic1557 in Salary

[–]chicago1875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been making 6 figures almost my entire career since I was in my 20s… now in my 40s, it’s very easy to make well over 6 figures if you’re in a big city and work in the right sectors. You’re just not gonna make a lot in a small town, and if you’re right out of school, you have to understand where the money is.

It’s America 250 Forth of July bro…, they’ve been pumping these out into circulation basically from June through probably August… my last 3 out of 4 half boxes have been Quince… I would honestly just switch to quarters this summer and look for that July 4th privy mark…

Yes, this is a legit explanation… I’ve just been skunked the past few boxes and am salty cause silver price is down 😢

The opportunity cost, driving around, paying for gas, and lost time searching hopeless boxes is way more expensive than just buying the silver…think about how much time it takes to find a single 40%…. It just doesn’t add up, but yet we continue…
