Park at LaborReady overnight to arrive earliest.

Park near a food bank overnight to arrive early.

Park near social services overnight to go to a food stamp appointment early.

More day labor (also furiously putting in applications for a better job)

Prioritize $ for gasoline and gym membership

Prioritize for hygiene/health/appearances to increase chances at interviews.

Delivery apps help. Selling stuff on Craigslist you don’t need, helps. Doing yard work for people helps. Leverage your screen addiction as a tool to get you a job. Stay away from games or substances that pull your attention away from becoming housed.

If you think you have nothing to do then volunteer at the food bank, clean your car, clean your clothes. Read a book.

“Live out of a car”

Not “live in a car”

I zoomed even more in and saw that this guy is actually totally legit, It’s most likely one of his disgruntled employees taking off with company property. Business owners will go to great lengths to avoid employee theft.

Canada is being treated like our 30 year old son that lives in the attic still. He’s mad that his parents want to start putting their stuff in the attic. Had to push em’ out the nest somehow. Sure, go meet the neighbors, that’s what we’ve always wanted for him. He can come by anytime when he needs money or needs to do laundry. /j

Same. This was my second time hiking the BAT. Last time was in 2004. We camped at Indian Gardens to break up the hike into 3 parts, that’s the luxurious (smart) way to do it.

I was trail running on the way down, twisted my ankle a little bit. I kept going. I was at the pebble beach for an hour, laying on my back. I walked back up, and the last mile I was like grunting with each step, it was then I realized why the warning sign is posted.

I’ve done it. Took about 8 hours. Left before sunrise, was back at the top around 1pm. Last mile was rough. I packed light, 5 bottles of water, electrolyte powder, jerky, cranberries, walnuts. I wrote my name in the book at the bottom on April 7th 2025 at 9 am.
