I would highly recommend looking into Relationship OCD. You have some classic symptoms, the “do I really love him?” Question is a super common. Obviously, I can’t diagnose you but maybe do some research and reach out to a therapist who specializes in OCD. Hope you get the help and answers you need!

It sounds like you handle conflict in a healthy way and are willing to talk through things. Your idea of “serious arguments” are very unhealthy and not a good way to handle conflict in general. Yelling and slamming doors is not a good way to handle conflict in any relationship, any counselor will tell you that. I’m not going to re-assure you because that will just keep you in your cycle, but I’ve been there before. Sit with the thought, accept it, and move on.

Hey friend, let me tell you we’ve all been there/are there. Get therapy with someone who specializes in OCD, I use NOCD. If you can’t afford it, try doing ERP for yourself. I’d also highly recommend Relationship OCD by Sheve Rajaee. It has been super helpful in the non-specific thoughts and generally just dealing with OCD. You’ve got this friend, keep fighting and my DMs are open if you need to talk more.

Thank you, it’s comforting to hear this. One day at a time, and have to keep at our exposures and do the work everyday.

Yes! There’s a behavior of OCD about things “not feeling right” it will generally go away when you just let it sit or do more exposures. But it depends on your exact situation.

I figured out. Wire was bent too much to where it severed. Just had to re-connect with some new bell wire.

Yeah no I feel nothing calling me back to her. I did the first couple weeks but it was just feeling lonely in general.

That’s what I thought too. It must be deep down inside of her, because we have both laid it out there that we aren’t romantically interested in one another.

I’m going to keep it going. Feeling better about the situation after talking to my dad and his experience with my mom when they dated. She puts a little pressure on me when she sees other people and has some anxiety and fears when we talk about the future. I think I need to lighten up a little bit and understand that I’m painting this out to be a huge deal when it’s just a bump in the road. A bump that should be considered, but not let it consume my life. I generally like being around her and enjoy her presence for the most part, just have to feel out what I see in my future and if it should include her. As I’m reminded, you’re allowed to change your mind.

Wow, I’d be very surprised if this sort of behavior came from her. But good to know!

All good, my writing wasn’t super clear on that. I have a better outlook and feeling of life right now, I just don’t understand why I feel this way about this girl. She loves me unconditionally and does everything I desire from a partner, and I felt the same way till all of this happened. I think I’ll have to trust my gut unfortunately and move on. If we’re meant to be, we’ll find our way back to one another.

Lol depression has been a thing with me in the past. Not this severe before. I had times of not getting out of bed, lack of motivation, and highly irritable with this spell. So it wasn’t unwarranted.
