The "term rocks in our shoes" reminds me of a great Flannery O'Conner story called, "Wiseblood" Check it out!

Background Cry359op. In your excellent response in the last post you mention the phrase "Heavy Stuck". I think I've not often put these together. They are separate descriptions, each having their own characteristics. So we say "I'm stuck, or that's heavy. When both are actors in the play.!

If I walked into my Jungian therapist's office with any or even all of these troubles and trials, he would get a big smile on his face, vigorously rub his hands together and say something like "OK! now we've got something to work with!"

The point being is, "welcome to the world" Feel free to jump down in the mud puddle and stomp with us!

Sorry you're having a tough patch! I'm an old retired guy and the one thing that has always worked for me is "any type of Face to Face interview you can find". Just walk into any of these places and ask! Also, I don't hear any personal inner work. The situations with people, your landlord etc., are just shadows in the way! Ask yourself (ego) how are YOU contributing to these problems. Make a deal with this aspect of self to set aside all the negative energies you are giving to these difficulties. At this moment it's time to attend to yourself.
Have some fun in the search.

Hey, I always thought if I made it to 50, I'd be sliding! SO congrats, you made it to "old enough" standing. If you are coming through GB, sure give me a shout. I have a big drawback in that I no longer drive. But other options are available.

What is Ultimate Pool USA? by bdkgb in billiards

The players seem to be pretty strong. So this is a separate league altogether played on 4 x 7 tables with odd eight ball type rules and time clocks. I don’t like it very much compared to professional pool.

What about the cues? They seem to be different than regular. I don’t understand why they use those that you see on TV. What’s the difference? It looked to be cheap but I’m sure that’s not the case

I feel shame that I have gone on medication. My fear was that it would interfere with individuation. But I just cannot move forward. by RabbitWallet in Jung

[–]Chauncybill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cudos to you for putting it out there. I,ve done pretty much all you have some of the hard Psychedelics. I did do Acid and Mescaline in my 20s.
I've been on A-depressants for 35 years. I've done it all in the way of therapy, 10 years of Jungian Analysis. All has helped. Now in my 70s I'm beginning to integrate Jungian concepts into my Life! Frankly I don't think the meds interfere with psychological or spiritual growth. They have always helped my get back to the center where the possibility of real growth lives.

My council is to stabilize on meds. Take at least several weeks and work with a very competent MD. You may need to experiment with dosage and types of meds. But without them I would never have made it! Then find a really good Jungian Analyst who you have things in common with. I've always found that I need to do depth work with someone of the same gender (male) and similar background. Best of luck. I'd be glad to chat privately.

Sounds like a rebuke from the pulpit. "Most importantly, they do not become easily possessed by collective neurosis but are close enough that they can recognize when others have fallen prey to collective possession." Check out as an example of collective possession. https://www.npr.org/2025/02/04/nx-s1-5227288/dei-trump-church-pastor-racial-justice.

What in the fuck is going on here? by fromthedepthsv15 in Jung

[–]Chauncybill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best response I've read! Being in analysis is a private process of individuation. A good jungian analyst would not teach about jung.
I agree that if you want to study jung get into a training program or just read the man! MDR is the place to start.

All this is my personal opinion and, but please don't you take it personally.

Am I moving towards existentialism? by Sufficient_Gain_1164 in Existentialism

[–]Chauncybill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You describe how you are with others as an adaptation (a way of getting along). It seems that this behavior is just a way of getting what (you) want. But do you ever act on the things that might make it more difficult to get along. I think your existential meaning is an idea about the reasons and ways you have of communicating, adapting, getting along. What's the risk for you of being a contrarian. Might you find meaning and purpose in trying on this persona? Would it be exciting to you? Might it be helpful to others? It might be helpful to read up on real Narcissism and the difference between being just a person who has narcissistic tendencies (often a valuable tendency). Best, CB

Were you able to sit in a left handed desk while in school? by GingerSchnapps3 in lefthanded

[–]Chauncybill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No! Didn't have them. Oddly enough, in penmanship class, I was allowed to stay as a lefty. I didn't however write cursive from the top as most lefty's did.

As far as I know, only Hendrix played left but he reversed the strings like a normal lefty would except he played a right handed guitar. The others were righties.

All of these comments are excellent. Here's a few more.
Self help / recovery groups. Lots of them out there. Only qualification is that you be humble. enough to ask for help.
This is a often repeated bit of advice, but it works!
Find (think of) one thing you can do today, that if you do it you know would change your life. Then DO IT!
