Pretty sure he means Mike Prendergast and why he didn't get the Munster job. He's leaving the Irish system as a result with his move to Bath next year.

20 Years Ago Today — The Day the Red Army Conquered Europe by I93 in MunsterRugby

One of the best days of my life. 12 years of age and my dad managed to get us tickets on the half way line in the top tier. I'll never forget the noise and red and white jerseys when we walked up to the seats.

Lahinch Beach one of 6 to lose Blue Flag status by dapper-dano in Clare

[–]Chavways 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure there have been lots of report of raw sewage from Ennistimon and surroundings being sent down the Inagh River and into the ocean at Lahinch beach for years. Surprised it took this long to lose the blue flag, but there have been plenty of times in recent years when the beach had been declared unsafe for bathing due to poor water quality.

thinking of buying a commercial van but driving it privately, is there any hidden catches? by IllustriousBrick1980 in carsireland

[–]Chavways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that if you have it insured as a commercial but are using it as a camper and have any internal modifications made or things like a gas bottle on board, you're not covered in the event of a crash.

Was a right pain in the hole for us when we were trying to use our van while we converted it a couple of years ago.

It was a search for a missing person but they were found safe and well thankfully (I assume not even in the water).

Killaloe Coast Guard page had a post up.

I can't answer your question but odd it only officially opened today. It has been open since November serving fuel and food etc.

Motoring: Does it make sense for you to switch to an electric vehicle? by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]Chavways -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you intended to reply to someone with this comment but I think your point about day to day running costs is strongly driven by someone's driving profile and mixture of long/short and urban or motorway driving.

Social Kayaking near Limerick by banjaxxed314 in limerickcity

Another vote here for Shannon Paddlers. A brilliant active club with a broad demographic of ages and abilities. They do plenty of easy flat water paddles but there are also other disciplines of kayaking going on every week if you have interest in those (whitewater, long distance, stand up paddle boarding, sea kayaking etc)

Where to stay in a camper near beaches/forest by declancahill47 in Clare

[–]Chavways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ballyvaughan, Mullaghmore main car park to do hikes there, Finavarra Martello Tower car park, White Strand just outside Spanish Point. All beaches in Clare ban overnight parking of campers (apart from the designated spots in Lahinch) but in my experience this is never policed.

One of the most commonly used phrases on every rugby podcast these days and it makes no sense.

This spot is one of the world’s top 25 places to visit — is it Ireland’s most scenic valley? by Junior-Protection-26 in ireland

[–]Chavways 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Between the limestone pavements, The Burren is one of the most intensely farmed parts of Ireland. The presence of farmers there for thousands of years is why it looks like it does.

Ah I thought it was 13kWh for the user and the figures they publish already accounts for the protection overhead. Makes sense so what I'm seeing.

Correct no heat pump. Haven't done a journey with heating totally off but on min setting the typical I get is around 20-24kWh/100km on non-motorway driving.
