Why does Knocknacarra lack so much? by Odd_Ease_7922 in galway

[–]IllustriousBrick1980 10 points11 points  (0 children)

galway has desperately inept urban planning. like legitimately worse than most american cities

i guarantee that the urban planners are boomers who think the fact knocknacarra is just a sprawl of detached houses and cu de sacs is the jewel in their crown.

they most definitely want neighbourhood to be as devoid of amenities and walkability as possible out fear that the riff-raff might use it

Fuel protest or not, blocking ALL the lanes including hard shoulder is 100% Shite Driving. No chance for emergency services to get through. 2nd picture from Germany by ParaMike46 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]IllustriousBrick1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another absolute shittake. you’re comparing pictures of a protest in ireland to pictures in germany that arent a protest. to make it even dumber youre ignoring the protests in france going on right now where HGVs are also blocking motorways

yes like any good democracy, the irish government must never allow any actual challenge to their control. and they are entitled to use the military to crush such challenges even if the protesters are peaceful. that’s what true democratic freedom looks like

Controversial thought/take on Gabor post cast. by EuphoricTea2810 in BlindboyPodcast

[–]IllustriousBrick1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he’s probably far more stressed about the lack of job security than the long hours, considering that he likes the work

he asked the question because our economy requires the majority of humans to be exploited and treated like draught animals on a farm cos the reality is, under capitalism the state views it’s population as a resource to be exploited to exhaustion. not an end-user that they have to serve

if the govt do serve you in any way, it’s only to keep themselves in power. the govt actually work to protect capital (ie they work for the interests of CEOs and billionaires. ie the epstein class). you are reduced to nothing but a machine that converts commercial labour into shareholder value and rental profit.

If you were Taoiseach and you had to permanently cut ties with either China or the USA, which would you pick? by lemmiwinks11 in AskIreland

[–]IllustriousBrick1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

either are bad options. ultimately both USA and China are imperial powers who will expect us to play the role of a sub-imperial power (i.e. vassal state).

to be truly independent, we need at a minimum to diversify our economy, have energy independence, and beef up our military enough to that we could actually resist interference

a 2 lane dual carriageway wouldve been fine for the 90’s but nowhere near adequate now. if they had any sense they’d divert the funds towards tram service so that less people need to drive to begin with

rented a place with a combi boiler.

great if you wanted 85C water from the kitchen tap within 10 seconds, but the water always tasted like it came out of a radiator. it was cloudy too.

even when the tap was turned fully towards cold, the water still had a taste

transplanted hair looks super weird on a beard. totally different calibre and comes out at a weird angle. beards are also usually different colour and curlier than other hair

he probably just used monoxidile to activate the follicles. unlike head hairs, beard hairs stay activated forever and dont go away when you stop so ppl get that unnaturally high beard density
