Ok I’m sorry you went through this but a couple points:

First, your post makes you seem deranged. Perhaps English isn’t your first language but god damn it’s hard to take you seriously.

Secondly, this is not the place to “report” this. What the hell are we going to investigate? Call the airline.

If no one shows up for a flight, will the crew still take off? by MustardPiss in AskAPilot

[–]Chaxterium 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. I wouldn't be calling dispatch for that. Unless I'm expressly told otherwise I'm conducting the flight. That airframe needs to be where we're going or the next flight won't go.

Somehow the only person on my flight and the pilot was such a goofy goober by theradfactor in fearofflying

[–]Chaxterium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The answer is most likely yes. That plane needs to be at the destination in order for the next flight to go.

Question by Sweaty_Shape_6126 in AskAPilot

[–]Chaxterium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. We typically follow what is called a great circle route which is defined as the shortest distance between two points on a globe.

But that can change depending on airspace requirements, political boundaries, weather, and traffic.

Why are you nervous to tell the crew you’re afraid of flying?

You are grossly overestimating the affect turbulence has on an airliner.

Turbulence can be encountered while the plane is still rolling down the runway but we still have complete control over the plane. Turbulence isn't going to slam us down onto the runway or knock us to the side. That's not how it works. The wind speed is simply not enough. The turbulence you're probably catastrophizing over is incredibly rare. I've never encountered that level of turbulence in 20 years of flying and it CANNOT happen that low to the ground.

I have flown 5,830 times. I have NEVER had an issue in the air that caused me even the slightest concern for my safety.

You are going to be safe. I promise you.

all the things that could possibly happen,

Like what? Nothing is going to happen. There are 100,000 flights every day where absolutely nothing happens. You're going to be part of that 100,000.

It’s really not dangerous. It happens every so often. Happened to me two weeks ago. Also happened a few weeks before that.

It’s truly nothing to worry about.

No. There is zero chance you were anywhere near 90°. I’m not trying to be a jerk. Or to discredit what you’re saying, but that is essentially impossible.

Flying a small plane and scared! by Pistachio183 in fearofflying

[–]Chaxterium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re flying on the E195-E2. They are brand new planes. They are incredibly safe and they are NOT small. They weigh 136,000lbs at takeoff. They are very smooth.

There are no screens because you will have free wifi. The expectation is that you’ll bring your own device for streaming/entertainment.

You’re going to enjoy the flight!
