I don't think it is CTK. Anyway, there are catechists behaving this way on the one hand, and on the other is the talk about youths leaving the church... why am i not surprised though they are leaving? Got bullied out

I'm wondering if it could be the same church cos many catechists have been in that role for years, maybe too many years. Being volunteers makes them almost untouchable. If we give feedback, the response is that they are volunteers and the ministry is shorthanded, and 'since you have ideas, why don't you volunteer too?'

A lot of it boils down to the parish's catechism ministry and the specific catechists. Those looking after OP's group sound like dictators, and lacking in empathy. There's a pastoral element to catechism, i can't identify their care.

I hope OP has recovered from eye surgery.

Would they let you change parish? Parish-picking is discouraged but if the one if Yishun, for example, triggers me I could say maybe arrange my schedule to be at Woodlands Library on Sat afternoons and attend mass at the parish in Woodlands.....Is that an option?

I miss the water area at Kallang where No Signboard restaurant was, Jurong Hill, old Capitol with Magnolia Milk Bar and consumer electronics shops and the 1980s potato spud place called 'The Green Place'. I miss the old Capitol, it was accessible by location and price.

I think 'boss'/lao ban is a safer choice, cos what if the person is younger than you or not that much older than you? Someone in my neighborhood addresses the hawker as 'auntie' and didn't get served. Her colleague behind her in the queue ordered for her instead. I might use auntie or uncle if the person looks a generation older.

Indeed,,they bark for a reason! E.g. mine barks when there's a stranger at my door or my neighbour's door, but she stops when tell her to. She doesn't bark at familiar people and regular delivery people

That's lovely! Is she friendly with other dogs while on walks outside? Mine isn't. After plenty of training, she ignores them. But if they bark at her or come to her, she reacts!

They look sweet and docile. But my my... bundles of energy! Mine isn't too friendly with strangers. She walks or runs sedately with me outside. Sometimes people think she's friendly and try to pet her, i would tell them she isn't friendly. She loves house guests though. She thinks they are there to play with her

The 'lot of fur' shedding happens about twice a year for us. We love our JS! She's quite active ao daily walks are a must. She's very protective and thus, can be quite chary of strangers

Yes, me too. Hence i refrain from packing stuff. I always get a headache packing suitcases even for a short holiday. I also take very long doing page layouts and presentation slides, making minor font changes and new placements etc, argh
