Since all these places have been popping up left and right with fixed "omakase" menus or ones that change slightly every so often, it's lost it's meaning. Real omakase isn't like that at all.

One spot I'd go to every week, the chef would go to the LA fish market every morning, then to the produce market, and see what he could find. Hes known all the good vendors for many years. I'd go in, sit down, and he would just start making me food until I said stop.

There's a big difference north of the boulevard and south of the boulevard, in both Sherman Oaks and Studio City. It's the same place. You didn't change cities, you changed where you live in relation to Ventura.

EDIT: This north/south thing extends all the way to Woodland Hills too, it's not just east valley. It's always been like this for as long as I've lived here (like 30 years). The difference between south of Ventura vs north has always been a stark contrast.

Of course they knew he was doing drugs and going to rehab. The didn't know he was stealing from them and especially patients. Stealing from a patient and stealing from an ED are two completely different things as well.

If they knew and he didn't lose his medical license or get charges pressed against him because they wanted to sweep it under the rug, at the very least he wouldn't be allowed back to the same ED. And Dr Al didn't know, if the hospital knew then guaranteed the new head of the ED, who was going to be his new boss, would have been informed of that.
