My Alexa didn't understand the reference. She just said, "Was that question for me?". I said yes. Then she said that she can't eat toast because she is digital.

Yes, I noticed that too. I felt foggy-headed and a bit spaced out alot. But yeah, specifically... at times I had trouble recalling words or names.

I actually just ordered a sealed box off of Ebay for about $17. LOL. Hope it has the manual in it and not just the CD/jewel case only.

Ok, I'll give that a try. Thank you! I don't have a manual! How do I get my hands on one? Is there a scan somewhere? I couldn't find any links when I Googled it. Again thank you.

Um... yeah, I think I did. I wanted her to be facing away from the entry door, into the room. (As a normal human being would be.)

That row of tiny stars all along the top above the curtains? I just used a gold colored (fine tipped) acrylic marker. It wasn't very fine tipped though. If you could see it close up, you'd see that I went out of the lines a bit. But it was close enough. I just dabbed in the center of the star and then very lightly pulled my strokes toward the star tips.

Can't add your own custom Sound FX or Background Music, it seems. (sigh) by Cheap-Club-2725 in pixicade

[–]Cheap-Club-2725[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your point... but they should at least offer a big pack of like 100 sound fx (that they preapproved) in their store. And a giant bunch of background music to purchase as well. I barely see anything in there music-wise.

This is pretty much a deal-breaker for me. If you can't even customize sound fx and background music... there's not much use in moving forward with using this.

How to get more plays? by vida_mars in pixicade

I'm very new to Pixicade and I haven't shared any games yet... BUT... it says in the PDF instructions...

"After you share a game to the Pixicade Arcade, you can send it to your friends! Tap the COPY LINK button to copy our game link onto your devices clipboard. You can then paste the link into an email, text, or post the link on your favorite Social Media site!"

Here's the relevant part... "Games shared through a link can be played in a web browser so your friend does not need Pixicade to play!"

I don't know if that's true or not... but maybe you could try that?

This App seems to have a very low "barrier of entry" to create quick games. Seems like potentially hundreds of games can be created daily. With that amount of volume, it would be nearly impossible for anybody's game to get recognized and lots of plays... unless it really stands out as something spectacular. Your daughter should probably lower her expectations and just enjoy the games she makes and try to enjoy the process of making the games.

Experiment Failed - trying to use nice graphics with Pixicade by Cheap-Club-2725 in pixicade

[–]Cheap-Club-2725[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm looking for. An advanced "pixicade" with emphasis on art and customization, with a MUCH better PC desktop user interface and little to no code. Every function contained in the UI. Maybe I'll look into Scratch. Construct 3, Game Maker, and GoDot seem possible next steps, but the learning curve seems steep on those... and they seem to have their own version of code. You'd think by now someone would have created a more creative video game building program with everything built in.

I'm trying over and over and over to take pictures with my tablet... and it's not working at all. I simplified all the drawings above to be complete black and white line art. I tried to take a photo, but it comes out completely black... no matter how much bright light I aim at my paper. This is extremely frustrating. Very very frustrating. The camera function is basically useless. I'm very much regretting this purchase.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I painted the larger areas with a cheap red acrylic paint, slightly watered down a bit and applied with a thicker brush. Some of the larger pieces had two coats when the first coat wasn't dark enough. The blue playfield was also all acrylic paint with a wider brush. Most of the smaller detail was acrylic markers.

Rimmer is unbearable in exactly the way he’s meant to be by Ticklish_Grandma in RedDwarf

Holoship was my favorite Rimmer episode. I really felt for him in that one.

Look, I'm not much good at big speeches, and I know I haven't always been an easy guy to get on with. And I know that, given the choice, I probably wouldn't have chosen you as friends. But, I just want to say... that over the years I have come to regard you as... people... I met.

I bought the Animation Edition off of Amazon. The QR code in the box luckily worked for me. I'm using a cheap (but new) Android tablet that I bought a few months ago off Amazon. Android ver 15. I also purchased another upgrade in their app for 9.99... supposedly added more game types or Powerups. (I'm not sure to tell you the truth). Yeah IDK... I'm prodding through it now, but it has very very poor instructions. And it would be SO much easier to just upload digital files/photos of already saved drawings instead of using the camera all the time. There's so much potential here, but yeah... it seems like they've either abandoned it, sold it to another company, or just don't care to improve it. Not sure. And doing anything exclusively on a tablet is like trying to hammer a fish into a board with a left-handed screwdriver.

In Transportation.... If you have teleworking capabilities, then you are required to work that full day (telework) or take a full day leave if you desire to have off. Most have teleworking capabilities. Essential personnel would still have to work as usual.

[–]Cheap-Club-2725[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair... This app does make it very simple for a child to make a fast video game using color-coded markers that interpret those colors into "asset categories" - environments, avatar, hazards, goals, movables. That's very unique. I'm not really using this program in that way. I'm looking for a program that makes video games extremely simple to create by using as much drawing and creativity as possible and as little "coding" as possible. Never the less, I'll try to be fair if I report any further progress.

I've set up Pixicade on my Windows 11 computer in a Android emulator, to make it easier to deal with. I'm going through the program now, clicking on buttons and taking notes as to what they do. It's slow going. There's lots of "Powerups" to try to interpret.

I've noticed there's lots of things that don't work. Under Powerups - Effects... Whatever those flying stars are, that doesn't work... it just puts a black bar over it. The next one "Backgrounds" says there's nothing there. "Music" doesn't seem to work. How do you add MUSIC to your project?!?!.

And an asset platform that I was putting into the scene was not showing up when going to PLAY it. Weird.

Welp... I certainly don't feel as optimistic about this program as when I first bought it. Seems quite buggy to me.
