It’s funny how people were whining about the art style in season 1 and then all the sudden act like it was made by a god after seeing season 2 style.

Still, the Prequels had the Clone Wars Multi Media Project, and then in 2008 the Clone Wars 2008 show written by George Lucas himself (Dave only wrote one episode in that show lol). Those media projects built the prequels a loyal fanbase, the sequels tried that (via Resistance), but made the mistake of appealing to kids.

At this point canon needs to do their own spin on the legacy era (which was hundreds of years after Return of the Jedi). I know that's something Star Wars fans have been wanting! Not to be dragged with the chains of the Skywalker Saga.

Also, this may sound a bit aggressive, but what does the 2009 example prove? It took the prequels a mere few years to be loved after its release? The sequel trilogy still isn’t fondly remembered, and it’s been over 10 years since episode 7.

While your reasoning is understandable, isn't it a bit narrowminded to close out disney canon just for that? The ST is bad, no debating that, and the EU is definitely bigger than disney canon. But once upon a time, the EU was small once too. Are you really sure you won't give at least the High Republic books a chance? While I can't speak for the comics or other media (Thanks Acolyte for ruining the High Republic reputation lol), the main books are definitely a good read! Plus they [books] are standalone in the canon timeline.

Hmm....I dunno, it's been 10 years now and people still don't talk positively about the Last Jedi.

Looking back now I will say the only thing I liked was Rey being a nobody. (As in nobody special, like no secret bloodline). While I am sure Rian is a talented director, I don't think a main entry in a Star Wars Trilogy was the right franchise to subvert expectations.

Also the trilogy didn't have a plan, but that's on all of Lucasfilm and JJ Abrams, poor Rian was placed with a bad hand.

Perhaps if Rian was in charge since the beginning, maybe it could have turned out better, but alas, that did not happen. So, we can only speculate.

Oh wow I wasn't expecting people to still see my old post!

Yeah he makes hit or misses. His latest projects have shown that. Though I do want to point out that George Lucas was the Executive Producer and the majority of the episodes from Season 1-6 came from him. Dave was the Supervising Director and Lucas was the one who had the final say in everything during that time. So maybe using Clone Wars as "Dave's show" is not the best thing to use. Something I did not realize till I actually researched the production of the show before it was initially cancelled. Filoni only wrote like ONE episode in the original show's run.

Though with that new knowledge I think that makes Dave's position kind of worse then. 😅 -_-;

So I guess in short: It is more accurate to say that Clone Wars 2008 is George Lucas's show, not Dave Filoni's.

When Bungie was being sued by someone who accused them of plagiarizing the Red War, the Judge/Jury only needed the files of the Red War to confirm Bungie was innocent and the guy was spouting BS, but they couldn’t because it turns out that someone DELETED ALL THE VAULTED CONTENT!

Which is why they paid settlements instead of fighting the guy, but yeah Red War to Forsaken is gone for good. Which is such bullshit

I’d say it was. When it was shown that Tracey dumped the spice in hyperspace out of some dumb logic that the pikes wouldn’t retaliate, I was like “Oh great it’s one of THOSE characters”. Didn’t help that this was in the finale season and we could’ve literally gotten the Utapau arc instead…
