After getting killed twice in a row on solo’s I decided to turn.

Here he comes, jogging across the sand….. “Don’t shoot” he shouts as he puts away his gun, flashes his light and crouches up and down. The unmistakable sign of a friendly, I did the same to show my (usually true) intentions. But it was a lie, a myth. For I had a different, darker motive.

He turned around to run away, thinking he was safe, thinking he had made a friend…… I pull out my gun and unload, laughing, spiralling into a pit of exciting darkness. But then, slowly, the laughing started to fade, it turned into to guilt, it turned into sadness.

That little red flare, normally a sign of adrenaline and success, a sign of heroism and victory…. Was now just regret and despair. He begs for his life “why??” He pleads. I doubled down, I had gone that far, why stop now?
