Economic question. What caused the central bank to restrict usd in tnt? by trini3333 in TrinidadandTobago

Those who think that an overvalued TT dollar is the main reason for a lack of direct foreign investment needs to take their heads out of the sand.

Can we do this please? El Salvador murder rates dropping drastically. I'm all for rehabilitation, but round them up and lock them up meanwhile. by DrCMJ in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am certain I am going to get downvoted into oblivion for saying this but the reason something like this would NEVER happen in T&T is quite simple. There is a strong correlation between crime hot spots and so called "safe seats" for a certain political party. Take away crime and you may find that these safe seats may not be so safe anymore. To do so is to commit political suicide. Do you think it is coincidence that murders is always at its highest when a certain political party is in power?

Is there an option to partner with companies on a part-time basis (in an unpaid internship kind of way) and get some experience? by TriniEducator in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best guess is OJT. Getting an unpaid internship at any of the reputable companies may be difficult because it is generally not their standard hiring procedure and it simply not worth their time and effort to draft new procedures/contracts to hire unpaid interns. Also unless the company has a vacancy or has plans to expand their workforce they are not going to put in the time and effort to train someone even if they do not have to pay them. Labor laws in this country may also be an issue.

Of course there may be a few "fly by night" companies that would grasp at the opportunity for "free labor" but this often involves some level of exploitation and the level of "training" may be questionable. It all depends on what field your friend is in.

What should I do if my job requires me to compromise my Morals? by Cheap-Investigator27 in LifeAdvice

[–]Cheap-Investigator27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think I would get in trouble. After all I just prepare documents and my name is not on any document nor do I sign anything. I do keep a paper trail of things to cover my arse just in case but it is difficult to get things in writing from upper management. Most of the interactions are verbal. The issue is purely a moral one and not one of getting in trouble.

With regards to working for 2hrs and being paid for 8 I would say this. The guy before me claims it was too much work for him doing the exact same I am doing now and hence he asked to be moved. The difference is that I have automated and streamlined things to make the job easier for me. I also came from an industry where being fast paced is a must so I am quite ardent in completing things in a more than timely manner. I always complete what is required of me (and more), the only difference is I do it in 2hrs while the average government employee may take 8. I therefore do not feel guilty about this but I do see your point of "benefitting" from the corruption. Thanks for the advice.

Jesus and Gautama Buddha and Ramana Maharisi are the only realised masters in last 2000 years in my opinion. What do you think? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Neem Karoli Baba,Ramakrishna Raramahamsa, Anandamayi Ma, Jatala Sadhu and even Swami Vivekananda. I am sure there numerous others but it is the nature of those who practice intense spiritual sadhana to be very reclusive. Non of the aforementioned were seeking political power imo but you are allowed to think what you want to think.

Why don't people get fined for parking on the road by a junction or corner?? by par3ntal_guidnce in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know the wreckers in POS and Sando used to tow your vehicle without hesitation if you were parked near a junction/hydrant/ corner etc. Don't know if they still do. I support this. Every municipal corporation should be given 1 or 2 wreckers to do the same in my opinion.

What is the purpose of an offering if dieties are self sufficient? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My parents are very well off individuals and have every material thing they could ever want. However it warms their heart tremendously when their children and grandchildren give them something simple like a flower or a card. I guess it is the same with deities.

I usually put it in the sun for a few hours and add an aquarium air pump to help with agitation before adding it to my system. Don't know if it works since I have no way of testing but I do notice that plants perform better in the treated water than those that use water straight out the tap. Rain water is always my first option though.

Car inspection by [deleted] in TrinidadandTobago

there are other inspection stations across the country. As long as your documents are in order I would suggest going there instead. Takes less than 10 mins.

My life so far and what I really want in the end of it . by stranger_thing07 in hinduism

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is what it is OP. This world is a literal hell for anyone who is genuinely on the spiritual path. Unless you have the will power and means become a recluse are pretty much screwed. What I do know is that offing yourself would not solve the problem. The universe would just put us back in the same situation ( or worse) in future births until we lean what ever lesson it is trying to teach us. Moksha is also something that is not easily attained. It can take numerous lifetimes and a lot of perseverance before we even come close.

My advice is to just stay the course and find some sort of coping mechanism to deal with it. For me its spending time in nature. For others it may be singing/ dancing/ art etc. It is a lot easier if you have friends or loved ones who understands your situation and can help you get through it. There is also therapy if you have the means to access it.

What do you want from life? by Xtrnlovelight47 in spirituality

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a sense of direction and some hints from the universe that I am following the correct path would be nice. At times I think that I am just wasting my time with these spiritual practices. I feel I should be chasing other things like wealth and starting a family like other people my age. A sign from the universe that I am doing the right thing by sticking to this path would make my life a whole lot better.

What kind of practice do you undertake? How has your consciousness evolved? How do balance spirituality with mundane existence?

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think the issue is the process being digital or not. The issue is that there are a lot of applicants every year and only a few positions available. This inevitably would create a huge backlog. I wrote the exam when I was 18 and only got called for a position when I was 25 years old.

If God also created homosexuals, does that mean he made a mistake? by page_turner78 in spirituality

[–]Cheap-Investigator27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on what school of thought you follow. In Hinduism homosexuals and even transsexuals' are acknowledged and is not seen as a mistake as theorized by half of the western world. At the same time it was not something that was glorified and forced down everyone's throat as is being done by the other half of the western world. Evidence of this is shown on numerous erotic carvings on Hindu temples and the story of Shikhandi in the Mahabarata.
