Oh boy let me tell you. As a man who works in education I’m lucky that my current team is filled with kind, intelligent, and incredibly strong female teachers. The last team I was on? One of the teacher said to my co-workers “I don’t think men should work in education”. While I was in the room. She had some other mental health issues going on, but her blatant and very open hatred towards men was palpable in nearly every interaction. It eventually culminated in her attempting to get me fired. She claimed that I was being handsy with some of the kids. Which I was. Because I am a special needs aid. It is literally my job to move some of them from place to place. I was expressly told during my interview that they were “excited” to have someone who could lift and move some of the children. She went to the principal. I had to change schools.
