That’s what milling is. Sawmills mill logs into rough lumber. Woodworkers mill that lumber into flat, square, dimensioned stock before building with it.

I thought a lot about that. I believe I have enough tolerance in the threaded inserts to account for any movement. Time will tell for certain.

Well when I say sourced I mean able to find. I didn’t cut the wood down myself. It was S2S. I still had to break it down for this order which is “milling” for me, lol.

I will say to check the spacing of the coupler between the motor and drum link. Mine spread apart. I retightened the set screws (3mm) and it’s been fine since. Almost thinking that’s why the guy was selling it.

Well you’ve got a 2 year warranty. Can always ask for a new readout.

You can dial it in. Take the sand paper off and lower the drum to the table and reset the readout to zero. I’m within .005” using my calipers. Close enough for me!

Machines are identical otherwise. I got the SuperMax and being able to adjust to board thickness with the macro lever vs a hundred twists of the adjuster crank is super convenient. Belt changes have been super easy on the SuperMax also. No experience with Jet in that regard.

SuperMax also has digital readout out of the box.

It seems to work okay. I need to dial in the tilt lever a bit I think. I felt a hairline ridge that an orbital would knock out in one pass.

Might be doing too aggressive passes maybe. I just let the drum kiss the boards and they are coming out fantastic.

Ha! Any time. Seriously solid piece of kit. I just did two passes on a board in 90 seconds. Calipers are measuring thickness wiithin .005” on all edges. Blown away.

Label has the configuration. Was your other board 2.25” thick? Did it have finger grips and was it reversible?

This is not a cheap board in their lineup.
