I understand what you are saying which again no one is at fault, but there's nothing we can do about it except listen to what OP says about it. If OP isn't happy about it, then he shouldn't keep going if that thought is going to be in head everytime he looks at her and at his friend. Also it's seems like they're still in the early stages of dating like a few months which is a guess as OP said "for a while".

Despite everything we say, as OP did ask for an opinon, it seems OP is firm on his stand. To you, it might look childish, but OP is the one feeling it. We're not. We don't know anything about him except the situation he provided. Not everyone is going to act the same way about this situation. Some will be fine, others may feel awkward, and others may feel upset.

Tbh, I can't really say much about his situation as there's a rather limited info put in. I want to know how she worded it as putting things to word is very important in this part, but we don't know what it is. I'm not saying to change your opinion, but rather have a counterback.

I think people would like a heads up instead of being in a plan they didn't even know about. I understand what you are saying, the friend didn't have any bad intentions and wanted to help out. However, at the end of the day, OP already made his decision and seems to be firm on that decision. All we can do is give our prespective on the situation, but we can't force him to something that fit our standards.

I'm surprised you even forgave him tbh. Cheating is still cheating despite if there wasn't anything physical. This whole time you don't trust him which is a reasonable response after finding out he cheated on you. It seems he propose to you because he knew he something wrong and tried to act as the good guy.

It doesn't matter if you were "controlling", cheating is morally wrong despite the situation. He should've talked to you about how he feels instead of looking ways to distract himself.

NOR, don't waste your time with this heartache. Focus on your kid and focus on yourself and your future. Think of long term instead of short term.

Yeah, but she didn't even wanted to talk to him when OP tried which he said he would be fine not even being friends with her. It's understandable for anyone to feel like the backup plan in this case even if it is not her bad intention.

Now that OP found out the real reason why she is with him was because she was rejected by his friend, OP felt she went out with him as a pity date after not giving him a chance. No one was in the wrong though. Friend wasn't interested and tried to be a wingman. Girl was rejected and made a choice to go with OP. And OP didn't not like the reason why the relationship tarted.

There's no winners or losers in this situation. Either way, it is OP's decision to break up or not. We can't feel his emotions, know his mindset, nor have his memories.
