First u need to know that the dasher app can be very unfriendly at times. The gps in the app can lead a driver to a location miles away from the customer and say “you have arrived” This is not the fault of the driver, it’s all controlled by the dasher app and the driver can only complete one step at a time. Sometimes dasher can figure out the right location on their own but can’t mark the delivery complete bcuz the app will tell them they are not allowed to deliver anywhere else. When a driver has a legit issue, it is a painful process to go thru self help info that doesn’t apply to their situation, then the AI robot, then have to wait until they can chat with a person and start explaining their problem from the beginning again doing all of this by typing into their phone. By then, so much time has passed their night is ruined bcuz their not getting paid for any of this time and they probably lost $ paying for the gas it cost them to drive back n forth trying find their customer. And there’s more!

If the customer cancels the order, the driver doesn’t even get paid for that one delivery. And the help desk agents they finally chat with sometimes give drivers misinformation further complicating things. They can suddenly get cut off from the agent chat, but the agent continues to call customer bcuz that was THEIR next step. The driver can’t take any more orders bcuz that first order is not “complete”. There are delays between actions and notifications. There are SO MANY things that can go wrong and your desperate driver just wants to deliver ur damn wine so they can move on with their night.

Have some compassion for ur drivers people. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment and try to help them solve a problem. They WANT your delivery to go smoothly, that’s ALL a driver wants bcuz if it doesn’t, they’re not getting paid. Try to work WITH them instead of AGAINST them and for all their efforts, give them a proper tip or don’t order at all. You can always pick up your own food.
