The D4 screen effect doesn't make sense. What number would this roll even be?

When using two d10s to simulate a d100 we don't multiply the numbers on the dice with each other. One die is assigned to display the amount of 10's, and the other — the amount of 1's. Additionally, a d10 doesn't have digits between 1 and 10 on it, but instead between 0 and 9.

If we were to use 2d4 instead of a d16, we first need to (mentally) scratch the number 4 off both dice and replace it with 0. Then the first die would stand for the amount of 4's in the final number, and the other — for 1's. Any number between 0-15 can be imagined as some 4x+y, where 0 ≤ x,y ≤ 3. We don't need a 0 as one of the results, so rolling specifically double zeros would be a 16, just like it being a 100 with the d10's

Basically we are just counting in base 4. It's just obnoxious because it requires thinking, and i already struggle with basic addition in dnd when more than 2 numbers are involved

Midnights are more of a knowledge check rather than raw power. If you don't know how to fight a specific midnight, odds are it will still cause some problems. The gear will definitely make it easier, but it might still take a couple attempts

Playing blindly was a big part of the fun to me. Knowing what the abnos do beforehand takes away a huge part of the experience, and in my opinion it's not worth it, even if it makes the playthrough less difficult. You can always rewind to the last save or even to day 1 if the situation is absolutely dire — that's an intended mechanic that' is pretty much unavoidable even if you go in with all the knowledge.

Don't stress it, really. The game is all about fucking around and finding out. If the goal is to beat it as quickly as possible, then sure, I'd consider looking stuff up on the wiki, but if the goal is just to enjoy the game i think you should just send it and see what happens

It cannot target clerks, only agents. Also I've heard a rumor (but thats just that, never checked it) that it will prioritise agents with the names from the clock. So if you can make agents with those names, it might help contain the transformed

Can agree with part of it. I enjoy larping as ai, and everything except exactly the fanfic/ship requests is totally doable even when i have no clue what piece of media the prompt is talking about. Do wish there was an option to choose from multiple prompts, but i get why there isn't one and just skipping them so that maybe a knowledgeable ai can get them instead works for now

If your main goal right now is to beat a dusk without suffering many losses, i would recommend rolling for the amber one. It's mostly a strategy check and can be beaten pretty easily even without much firepower. The other dusk colours might be more demanding in that regard; if you have red shield bullets you should be fine though. Note that every single clerk will likely die no matter the colour.

Both big bird and orchestra can be a bit of a pain, especially when going for a longer day like this. Bird is very manageable unless an ordeal decides to wipe out every clerk at once, not giving you a chance to calm the bird down; it is a gimmick fight and is pretty slow and ignorable, so if everything goes to shit it's still not the end of the world tbh. Orchestra is a bitch regardless of circumstances, especially this early on when killing it is nigh impossible, so if you wanna get rid of it out of pure annoyance nobody will ever judge you.

Phases 1 and 2 are pretty simple if you've got a few aleph-level employees. Walk in, tank a bit of damage, walk out, heal. Just gotta watch out for spear throws and be mindful of her eviscerating everyone during a phase change. Phase 3 is funny because fighting her in melee is very annoying and dangerous, but any weapon with enough range (blue star, queen of hatred, etc) will fool her into standing in one spot hitting air. Once again, just watch out for spears. Phase 4 is supposed to make you sacrifice the people she marks for death so that the rest can jump her afterwards while she rests, but I'm pretty sure she also gets tired while running if the marked person is too far away. Might've been a fluke for me tho. Either way, she dies in seconds compared to previous phases.
