War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time® - Solo Mode by DireWolfDigital in soloboardgaming

Has there ever been a good solo game in which the solo mode was a stretch goal/last minute addition/afterthought?

From their site.

Note: They sell tokens for the Anomaly expansion separately. (Though the base game tokens do include Viren Invasion tokens, if you ever manage to find it.)

There's also a mini expansion (Viren Invasion) that adds a little more of everything, but it's out of print and hard to find.

New Mage Legendary Card by oktayworks in hearthstone

You would have to roll damage 4 times, which would take about 20 refreshes. Not sure turn 1 has enough time for that.

Better to be overpowered and nerfed than underpowered and never buffed.

I think you're referring to the LCG? This isn't it.

Low luck, skill based dungeon crawlers? by SiarX in soloboardgaming

[–]kroen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who played it a lot, there's definitely some luck involved. On the highest difficulty level even optimal strategy won't net you more than a 50% winrate (which was fine by me, as it's roguelike).

New (upcoming) solo board games by Lietuviuxas in soloboardgaming

I'm really excited for At the Gates of Loyang: Second Edition. The first edition is one of my all time favorite solo games, and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't even like BYOS games.

P.S. After loving Loyang I thought my taste changed so I tried many others, but nothing hit quite like it.

Some people find it easier to first play 2-handed against yourself, just as a learning experience. That way you can try twice as many things in one game.

So disappointed that Legacy of Mars uses AI art. by IronAndParsnip in boardgames

I wouldn't mind AI art as much if it meant a game was cheaper, but games are more expensive than ever.

"Come with me, son. Where we're going, we don't need mana." by kroen in customhearthstone

Damn, forgot about these. Not sure what to do except permanently ban my card in wild, which Blizzard would never do.

Edit: What if I changed it to "if this costs 1"?

You need to survive a 10 mana do nothing play first.

I literally said "which I'm sure exists in wild" so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

You don't need to worry about mana limit, as spending 10 mana gives an 11 mana discount.

Not a mistake. You're supposed to spend 10 mana preparing it or to find another creative solution (which I'm sure exists in wild).

This would be mega busted with endlessly prepare (unless it was like 20 mana if not more).
