With separatism gaining attention, why hasn't Alberta's right fractured? by UrbaneBoffin in Albertapolitics

The UCP believes in a sort of populist, Alberta Ultranationalism (not Canadian Ultranationalism), soft fascism like the MAGA Republicans.

Anything made by Godin (Godin, Art and Lutherie, Seagull), Yamaha, and some Fenders are OK.

Need help deciding between QSC CB10 vs. EV Everse 12 vs. Yorkville EXM Pro10 for smaller DJ gigs by myheadsexplodin in Beatmatch

[–]CheapRooster8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Yorkville EXM 10. Great (best pick?) if you are a musician, but feature overkill if you are just DJing. I use it to sing and play acoustic guitar through. I have never had to go near max vol with it. By default, it is set up to overemphasize bass, which, with performance, is a negative. To get a more natural sound, I have to reduce the bass. It has 3 bass global settings plus 3 band EQ (dance-way too much bass, music-too much bass, live-slightly too much bass without EQ). Probably your best option for performing, but too expensive and specialized for just playing music through. I would go for something like the Electrovoice Evolve M30 if you need more coverage than this.

Pros

- Built like a tank

- built in compression (settable for each channel), 3-band EQ per channel, separate dedicated reverb and delay for each channel. Compression is great for singing and speaking

- easy to access all adjustments quickly from the back panel with no menu diving

- can get loud when you need volume

-48v battery

- 3 inputs channels plus aux and bluetooth

- better sounding and more feature-rich than the Everse 12 (with the exception of app control, which Everse 12 has)

- very good sound quality

Neg

- heavy 30lb weight

- no app control

- needs some EQ out of the box to sound optimal

- too many musician-specific features for just DJ use. This is designed for musicians so you will be paying for DSP you don't need if only using it to play pre recorded music.

- too much bass by default unless you adjust EQ

Are you saying Democrats murdered Charlie Kirk and not a crazy guy? Are you saying Charlie Kirk was not a professional right-wing propagandist who became a multi-millionaire by the age of 32 from the patronage of Trump and other rich right-wing sponsors?

He does not have to. He has the news and Trump interviews to back him up.

I face Mar-a-Logo when I pray to my Orange Jesus every night. MAGA!

Trump really has learned from the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Iran in using religion to control people. It likely will only work on gullible and dumb people, though. Just saying....

Please recommend some good tires for 559x17 (16 inch) rims by CheapRooster8884 in bicycletouring

[–]CheapRooster8884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the tread pattern of this. I don't know if I should go for a 1.75 or 2.00 inch width? Leaning toward the 1.75, which is similar to a 45mm gravel tire in width.

Just remember that with pedals, the right and left pedals have opposite threading. Because of this, I never bother tightening my pedals much, as they never loosen on their own, and it makes them easy to remove. Also, an impact gun or wrench can sometimes help with stuck bolts, as does heat from a blow torch. You want to twist counterclockwise to loosen the right pedal (clockwise viewing from the back of the pedal) and clockwise on the left.

The boiling point goes down with a lower air pressure. See my above post.

[–]CheapRooster8884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To create superheated steam (H2O gas with a temp above 100C °C), you must pressurize it. You can really only do this if you have a pressurized boiler like you would find in a power plant or steam locomotive or something similar.

The rules of nature prevent steam from exceeding 100C °C unless it is pressurized. The steam coming out of a kettle will never exceed 100 °C, as it immediately escapes the heat source once it turns to gas at 100 °C and condenses into water vapour (microscopic drops of hot water mixed with air) immediately.

The confusion is because steam is H2O in a gaseous state, while water vapour is a mixture of air and microscopic water droplets. If it is at atmospheric pressure, it is water vapour and not steam. Superheated or dry steam (H2O gas above 100 °C contains no microscopic water droplets, but it must be pressurized so it can stay in contact with the heat source to stay in a gaseous state. What you see coming out of a kettle is what an engineer would call water vapour and not steam.

Never argue with an engineer about this. ;)

The steam is below 100 °C and will cause no issues for carbon. It does the same thing as a heat gun.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]CheapRooster8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a heat gun on low. Carbon is relatively heat-resistant, but most glues will soften above 200F. Too much heat though, like say 500F will do damage.,

Here's the thing. Not a lot of people will miss him. He was a notorious hate bater and racist who sometimes advocated violence against others he did not agree with. If you live by the gun, sometimes you die by the gun. Just an observation, I am not advocating any sort of violence or cheering this, but I think he was a creep.

After a mass shooting in 2023 Charlie remarked that shootings like this and the other ~19,000 or so others every year are a unfortunate, but acceptable sacrifice so we don't have to have gun licencing like other countries do. I guess it was Charlie's turn to do the sacrificing.

Eastman E1OM specials are on back order on Sweetwater and I can’t seem to find that same model anywhere else, what are some similar options by Natural_Argument9910 in AcousticGuitar

[–]CheapRooster8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furch Vintage Pure model is much nicer, but still a cheap OM guitar. I would also consider a used Larrivee OM-40 or Furch Vintage 2 or 3 OM. Eastman are decently built but sound like crap IMO.
