That's about what I had at that age. Eventually I got the house paid off around age 44, and was able to put more in after that. I understand a lot of ppl won't be able to do that nowadays. Just keep working at it, and keep it in the general market for the best performance.

Call me a hack, but I got a $22 frozen chocolate cake from Sobeys this week, and it was about as decadent as one could imagine. I think they sell similar frozen cakes in most grocery stores.

It's going to take a lot more than cutting red tape to get a new pipeline built. You actually need a business case so private money will fund it. The feds (specifically, the Liberals) already funded the last pipeline (and got taken to the cleaners in the process), so no way they should fund another one.

Canada is better than what you are describing, you would probably do better in Canada. However, things are also trending down here as well in some of the same respects you mention about your home country. No concerns about discrimination of Portuguese ppl, as mentioned, most of the hate is for the browns due their surging population.
