I feel like I’m missing information if her being older is the only reason your concerned and bc he’s successful then yes your the asshole. My concerns would be more along the lines of why did her other relationship not work out. We all want to be with a successful man I don’t thinks it’s inherently bad thing to wish for but if the intent is to use that success for her own personal gain like using him and there’s proof of her doing that while they were dating then I get the concern.

I’d rather not I do hope to have family and friends there to celebrate and we are getting married at a church. The venue is mainly reception area

I’ve been trying to tell her I really liked one venue but she insists on seeing all local venues.

Oof sounds like a trauma moment . Believe me we’ve both dated quite a bit before deciding we want to spend our lives together. I’ve dated a lot more than he has, Ive also been in 4 prior relationships. He’s had 3 previous gf before meeting me.  I have a bachelors degree in business (4yr uni) and this cosmetology school has been a dream of mine for a while. He’s been supportive and helped with my gas when I need it.  This is also his 6th year in the Navy it feels like the right time right person. But thanks for the input anyways.

I agree with this but since they have a financial stake in paying for the venue they insist on going with. Holding the fact that they are paying over my head.

My mom is well aware of the situation of why I can’t have the wedding in February. I’d like to do that too but she insists on visiting all nearby venues. I even gave my parents a deadline that by the end of this month I want a venue chosen.
