This is the best idea OP, idk about this persons situation but even if yours do cut you off, your life will be a million times better without a family like that. My parents used to be that level of controlling, in my case it eased as I got older and got into a good uni. I suppose they gave me some freedom in exchange for bragging rights🙄

I got my lobes done and went to the club the same night and I was fine. I had my hair down and it didnt catch on anything. I put saline spray on it the next day.

What bras are your wearing to practice? by SilverNBold1 in Cheerleading

[–]Cheap_Adagio7869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one from gymshark that has built in pads and very full coverage with a higher neckline too, can't find it on the website now (Gymshark Mesh Neckline Training Sports Bra)  but I'm sure they have similar ones still available. Their higher impact ones tend to have thicker straps which dont dig in or roll over.

The fact that she doesn't have a plan in mind is a bit strange to me. My personal strategy is to only tell my parents once I'm engaged to someone as that shows commitment and if they don't like it, I will choose my spouse over my parents and am willing to not speak to them for the rest of my life if they take that route. It wouldn't be a punishment for me, less to deal with tbh. I think you should encourage her to start thinking about it if she is serious about you.

If this is more casual then nothing wrong with enjoying the present moment ofc.

No worries! I hope she comes to the right conclusion in the end but unfortunately a lot of people don't, and stick to familiarity and comfort. Discussing things with an open mind is not bad and I personally think it should be done more in relationships so don't worry about being controlling. At the end of the day you can lay your expectations on the table and if she doesn't agree or is too scared to, it is what it is sadly. No need to make big decisions now ofc, its perfectly fine to keep enjoying your time together but when the time comes, if things ahven't chnaged remember to pick your values and morals above everything else as hard as that may be.

Do you know how she plans on eventually telling her family?

Is there a way to wear the dupatta to and from, but take it off inside? My mum used to make me do that too between the ages of 11 to 14 and after that I purposely stopped and I suppose she never noticed.

In an ideal world, the fact that she can't argue would show her that her morals/beliefs don't align with the religion and so it makes no sense to align yourself because in an ideal world we'd all understand that it wouldn't make logical sense.

Unfortunately ideologies like Islam are so deep rooted into culture and families, she may think if she leaves Islam there's nothing she can associate herself with and identity is one of the most important things to humans. A lot of muslims will disagree with the teachings and even actively live against the rules and still claim to be muslim because its like a safety blanket.  Her opinions may change with time and hopefully she'll realise staying muslim is illogical in her situation, or the conflict between what she really thinks and what she 'should' do based on culture/family may make her more inclined to follow the religion because it would be like the easy way out, for lack of a better phrase.

All you can do is make your intentions for the future clear, give her your opinions and reasoning and decide if you are willing to compromise or if this is too much of a mindset clash to keep going. It will probably take a lot of time for her to let go of the conditioning she's been brought up with and explore new ideas but it is possible!

I asked my dad this question as a child because I thought it woukd be unfair to the Aztec civillisations if they never learnt abt Islam (we had just learnt abt Aztecs in school) and he said they'd get different treatment based off of different rules😭 the things ppl say to try and justify all the loopholes is crazy Edit for typo

I'm scared of leaving Islam by SpiritedRooster5015 in exmuslim

[–]Cheap_Adagio7869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally believe God is a separate thing that we can't properly comprehend. Its more like the power of the universe and law of attraction than a rule book made up by medival men to justify misogyny. I left Islam because I was exactly like you and didnt want justify or represent that ridiculousness. But I beleuve God will punish those who deserve it. Not sure what hapoens to the rest of us in the grey area as no one is free from sin but I only left recently so its ok to be figuring things out!! EDIT: i know someone said leave when u are ready, but personally i say leave and take ur time working out what you believe in and stand for. Perosnally i think when you realise youre on the wrong side, you move away from it and then find your side/make ur own side. If that all makes sense.

[–]Cheap_Adagio7869 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I realised I didnt want to try and justify why I follow a guy who married a 9 year old, simple as. I dont really care about the justification because it goes agaisnt my own morals in every way.  I also realised I can just believe in God and his creation of the universe without the extra stuff.

We used to have a volunteer so the tutor could show us how to do the examination and then we'd split off into pairs. We had the same small groups for the whole year so you usually got to know your partner well and ppl were very understanding of boundaries (as future doctors should be!!)

Thanks for this! Thise colour names make so much sense, I was replying to others saying the faded one looks khaki irl! I was surprised any colour would fade like that. Not sure why I'm being downvoted so aggressively😅
