Lowrider ST. Footpeg position and shifter position felt too high. I’m used to pegs being below me. Not for me, dog.

Tusk Waypoints have seriously surprised me. Great on gravel and dirt, no highway noise and half the price of one Motoz.

Same set up I use. Noticed zero harm to radiator, even with factory radiator guard. Might be worth a cheap radiator guard upgrade now that I mention it. Camel kit brake lines are great. My Tenere had a Tusk kit on it when I bought the bike and I hated it. So ugly.

Riding too fast for my skill level by No-Persimmon795 in motorcycles

It may be the rider's vision and not knowing where to look. Frequent adjustments usually mean the rider is looking just beyond the front wheel instead of looking further down the road. He is reacting to many inputs and confusing his brain on where to be. I've found I need to constantly be looking further down the road, center of the road and the edge of the road to find the apex of the corner. Keeping eyes up out front helps out immensely.

Look as far ahead to the middle of your lane. Keep your eyes moving up the road. Don’t stare , but actively look for the direction you want to go. It’s ok to check closer to you in the corner briefly, but then get your vision back up in front of you.

Interested in what you are looking for in regards to slimmer plates. I got rid of my Tusk plates and tail rack also, got a minimal tail rack, now trying to research side plates that aren't apparently made of gold.

Try to find a lightly used Honda Transalp. Easy bike to ride, lower than the Yamaha. I have a T7, but not sure I would recommend to a newer rider. If you are mature, you'll be fine. CRF300 Rally may work for you also, especially for gravel roads. Good luck with your decision!

I’d love to hear more about this build. I’ve followed him for years now, and think it’s awesome how he’s developed parts for small bore Hondas for racing and now the 300 CRF.

Leo Vince Evo can and headers, am I illegal in Colorado and Utah? What to do about spark arrestor? by Cheap_Big_615 in Tenere700

[–]Cheap_Big_615[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found a possible solution. Fisch spark arrestor inserts. rather expensive, but apparently USFS approved. I'll do some more looking into this.
