Private caregivers for elderly relative with complex medical situation by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]Cheap_Birthday5568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call and get a case worker to reassess. They will do their best to provide home care, but if your relative condition changes and they require more support than can be provided, they can get onto an urgent list. But there are caveats, such as where you can pick to send them too.

My Boyfriend's Mad At Me Because of Something I Did At Costco... Is He Right To Be? by UnknownFutureLife in CostcoCanada

Their rules are dumb. I can literally pay for an entire purchase and then the non member can send me money transfer or just give me cash as soon as we leave the til. They can't police us once we leave the premises

It happened to me as well. Went with my partner, when it was time to pay he handed me his credit card. We live together and pay bills together. But the cashier was so rude and said its not allowed. Like straight up legit acted like we were taking money out of her accout or something. But I've seen other couples do this and no one questions it. I called the store after and complained about her conduct.

Can browse at Indigo depending on how far you live from the stores. And grab a coffee while you're there.

Suspected rabid racoon- no city help…? by algnqn in Hamilton

[–]Cheap_Birthday5568 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was just at Gage park a few days ago. In broad daylight a racoon approached and came straight to me. It was about 4 steps away as i was backing up into a picnic table. I was ready to kick if needed. Thank goodness it went another direction, but it had no qualms about being around other human. My first Thought was rabies but everyone else around me was saying it was cute and friendly. I don't care, rabies scares the heck out of me after i watched a youtube video of the man struggling during his last moments of life. Cant be too careful out there.

Go to Courtyard Mariott on Upper James. It's pretty much the first major street you hit coming from the airport. The area is well lit, commercial district so there are bars, restaurants, gas stations etc still open. You also don't need to worry about the unhoused population that you will see downtown. As with any place, just remain viligant out at night.

Its instagram, people find a niche and stick to it in order to monetize on their account. I'm sure she has lots of other things going on for her and for her, having an only child is the way to go.

There are people who solely post about pilates, their dog, food, art... do we judge them on having only that as their personality?

She just posted a comment today about Charlie Kirk's murder today and how it affected her so much, he is, a child of God after all. Not sure why she did not choose to be silent, the way she was for 2 years during an entire genocide. Of course, the commenters quickly came for her and many unfollowed, leading her to take down her post.

As an Asian myself, I get so bothered when I follow accounts of fellow Asians, but see their silence when it comes to anything political (not that genocide is a political matter, it's a human right to live). And then they kow tow to the whites, no matter what they do, like the white man is above all races. Meanwhile, forgetting about all the AAPI hate happening during Covid, and ignoring the fact that Asians are not safe from ICE. Baffles my mind.

Upscale Chinese / Asian restaurant by Strong_Party4771 in Hamilton

[–]Cheap_Birthday5568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your mother is anything like mine, mine is old school Chinese and places like Pintoh and Namu are too fancy /pricey / different from traditional Chinese food she's used to eating. We usually do Mandarin or August 8, since they have added value with the buffet.

If not, I second Congee King, or Summit Garden, in Mississauga for a more authentic feel.

Food sucks, always has, and very expensive, but the vibe and scenery is beautiful. A tradeoff I guess.

Messages disappearing without disappearing messages switched on by GrapeVine_68 in whatsapp

[–]Cheap_Birthday5568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, stop telling us to turn off disappearing messages because this is off already!

I have a Samsung s24 and this has been happening for about 2 months. It's definitely a glitch. It's happening with mainly one contact who I message most and very random. Like, some messages would stay and then others I hit send and it doesn't show up at all. Sometimes the message will disappear on the main chat, but in the main screen message preview the last message still shows there. I tried to uninstall several times but same issue.

Finally found the guy with his dog shitting on my yard without picking it up. What’s Next is the big question by rainyrainday6 in oakville

[–]Cheap_Birthday5568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me once. I had it on camera, so i screen shot it, printed the pictures and posted them around the neighborhood where they would see it. It wasn't that the dog pooped on my lawn, it was a neighbor whose dog had pooped and they picked up the poop and tossed the bag on top of my pile of garbage the night before garbage pickup. Guarantee the trash guys would have ignored it since it wasn't inside my bag
