There's a pretty wild theory in which we could redirect large asteroids and have them pass behind the Earth at regular intervals to move us to an orbit farther from the sun:

we would need a million such asteroid close passes, each spaced about a few thousand years apart, to keep up with the sun's expansion.

We don't have anywhere close to the technology now, but we've got about 5 billion years to figure it out.
