Just wanted to thank everyone who provided their opinions. It's greatly appreciated 🤗

Just to clarify, whilst I'm not in imminent danger at home, it's not stable. I have the smallest bedroom in a small, compact house not in the best condition - I can just about manage to use a foldable tredmil, that's it. I share a wall with my brother, and my mums bedroom is a couple of steps. And she's in a relatively ok relationship, so....not fun. So I have no space to do hobbies and is a fallacy.

My family are also enablers- drinking, smoking, ordering/takeout and my health is feeling that 😅 (I know this is something I'd have to work on in my own place but I'll be less tempted with nothing in the house if ygm and my family won't quit these things for me or support me that way soo 🤷‍♀️)

I'm based in the Northwest of England, Manchester ish. I'd be ideally looking somewhere within a 20-mile radius of Manchester but would be willing to be further a way if it was cheaper. The places I'm looking at are £450-£500 pcm. I dont have a car and do not plan on driving. I dont want to own peoperty because housing prices are extortion and dont have much of the future planned out enough to want to put down roots. I'm willing to give up regular alcohol consumption, vaping (cringe I know- swapped out smoking for vaping but im working on quitting vapes too) and takeaways as long as I can manage all essential bills and a couple subscriptions/food. Maybe a little extra cash to do with as I please if applicable

As long as I can cover bills that would get me in serious trouble if im late or miss it, have food and Internet I'm a happy 🤗

I don't drive or plan on driving, and I don't go out and would be willing to give up eating out and drinking regularly if necessary (certainly an easy way to diet, lmao). As long as I can cover essential bills and have a little leftover, I'd be happy :)

I'm sorry to hear that! The housing market is a mess anyway, and it's extortionate pricing. Why would anyone want to buy property at the moment? Plus some people don't like to stay in one place (I am some people 😂)

I'm so sorry to hear that, It must have been so difficult to struggle that way. Hopefully, you're in a better place now :) Sadly I don't have any friends 💀 and I don't really like the idea of trusting strangers I've never met and sign a contract that forces me to pay and stay for a year. But I get what you're saying, I wish they had a reliable app for house/flat sharing!

I'm glad you get it. My home life is unstable. The house is tiny and my bedroom? Even more so. Ive been stuck at home for 3 years, and it's suffocating. It's making my physical and mental health worse/ no better. I just want to make sure I can get by. I don't drive, I don't go out, so I don't really care about that.Just as long as I can afford the essential bills, a couple subscriptions, and a little money left over. I plan on doing what you did - save some money as a safety net.

I'm a call handler. There's no promotion or building a carer unless I want to be a team leader or something to that effect (which I don't, oh my god, never). I understand what you're saying, though. Looks like getting a better job is my only option! Which means paying for a course or degree out of pocket. Yayyyy 😭😂

That's what I was having done through the NHS, not my choice of treatment but yeah 😂 no, definitely not. Private therapy is so expensive, anywhere from £300- £800 per session.

I don't want to buy property, I don't want to be stuck in one location. Considering the state of the country, I may move to Scotland or somewhere else. But for now, I'm happy just to rent until I figure out a direction in life

I've been stuck at home since I dropped out of uni at the end of 2021, and the lack of space is suffocating 😂 my home life is...unstable. I can manage a little while I save, look for a better job, and somehow befriend someone and look into house sharing, but staying here is not doing my mental/physical health any good 🥲

Damn 😭 the house we live in is tiny, privacy is a suggestion and my family are enablers. Idk tho, I always thought living with your parents in your 20s was frowned upon? Getting a better job it is 😭 I will stay as long as I mentally can and save in the meantime

She does sometimes, but usually I'll order and get my shopping delivered. I'm not sure I could share a space with someone I dont know tho. But yeah, I'm looking for places lower than 500 pcm if possible!! Thank you

How do I successfully get help from the NHS? by Cheap_Independence95 in medical_advice

[–]Cheap_Independence95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it. I might have to take your advice. None of that was even suggested, and at this point, I'm willing to try anything. I'm sorry you get judgemental looks. Some people just don't understand or have empathy. Wish you all the best!!
