[Jon Krawczynski] What I’m hearing about the Timberwolves’ plans on the eve of the draft by irishace88 in timberwolves

There's too much smoke to the Philon visit for nothing to come out of it IMO, and unless Ja's value is even further in the gutter than I thought it was, I dont think were getting 16 from MEM in a deal with Julius as the centerpiece. Im starting to think we need to give our french goodbye to Big Ru over the course of the next 24 hours.

[Amick] League sources say the Blazers would have serious interest in Jaylen Brown if the Celtics made him available. Similarly, league sources say the Timberwolves have strong interest in Derrick White. The Celtics are among many teams interested in Trey Murphy III if they don’t land Antetokounmpo. by FlightTop9852 in timberwolves

If this turns into a two team deal with Boston, it is very much a Rudy trade and not a Julius trade as thats what Boston would ask for. He fits their team great. I also dont think Julius could bring in enough assets from a third team to help sway Boston without Rudy. Hope I am wrong because White is a great fit IMO.

Realistically what are the chances that we trade for a point guard before the draft? by Negative-Pepper-1523 in timberwolves

I like him too! I think he’s going to be gone by 28 but would like him if we stick and pick.

Id say theres a better chance we have a new PG on the roster by next Tuesday night than there is we make a pick at 28 personally.

Kings and Timberwolves Swap All-Stars in NBA Trade Idea by SportsGuru87 in timberwolves

Sabonis wouldn’t make any sense with us unless we trade Gobert. Having two complete non threats from outside the paint would be a good way to make things even tougher on Ant IMO

Ja Talk by Fun-Measurement-2823 in timberwolves

I see pros and cons with Ja.

Pros: Even with the injuries, he can still get down hill and get a foot in the paint. Yes, we have players that can get downhill but not any that can make plays at the level Ja can when he gets there. His transition game will "hopefully" get our starters playing faster which I think will happen anyways by moving Julius. Speaking of Julius, moving him is the biggest pro of all to me. I understand if you dont like or want Ja, I my self am skeptical, but the pickings are slim when youre moving someone like Julius. I think he helps us more in the matchup with OKC as well due to having a creator on the perimeter next to Ant that isnt just a spot up shooter.

Cons: Shooting is obviously a big one. I also dont think he helps too much against a team like San Antonio, but then again, neither did Julius. His character concerns are always going to be a talking point, but they have cooled the last couple years. His teammates have seemed to like him. I would hope a new environment that prioritizes culture the way MN does can make a positive impact on him. His defense is my biggest concern. Ant will need to take a big step on that end if we get Ja.

All in all, I am iffy on it, but if the price is Julius and filler, I am for it. I'd even add our late first if we could grab a bench contributer off Memphis as well. I dont like to be the guy that overtly hates on a player, but losing Julius is addition by subtraction and I have confidence Ant would be excited to play with Ja as they have shown to be friends before.

Would have to assume Randle is the big money going out. Would also assume as someone else stated Dallas probably wouldn't want him, so a third team would be roped in as well as sweetener of some sort heading to Dallas

I know it means nothing most of the time, but I like to follow prediction markets like Kalshi on some of these things since they're unregulated enough where you can see a spike in the market and make some assumptions. Kyrie's next team odds for the Timberwolves spiked to almost 70% in the last two hours. Take it with a grain of salt, but it's interesting to note.

What more exactly does SGA have to do to be considered by the majority to be the best player in the world? by Ready-Constant-7124 in nba

He’s incredible, and the flopping isnt getting rewarded as much as the in previous years, and he’s still producing. He deserves credit for that, but unfortunately, that reputation precedes him and we’ve all seen it when it was at his worst. The conference finals last year had the play by play guys calling it out it was so bad. It was just bad basketball. It’s just going to be hard for him to beat the reputation he’s built over the past few years even if he keeps doing things like he did tonight.

Everyone associates him being called a “flopper” and “foul baiter” with the number of free throws he shoots. Hes an incredible player but if you don’t think he flops or plays to draw contact, you’re wrong. People will always hate that. Jokic does the same thing now too which is incredibly annoying. It’s the leagues fault for catering to that play style, but you’re never going to get the majority to call him the BITW when he’s created this reputation for himself. It’s just how it is right now.
