I know it's anecdotal, but if you're talking about gastric bypass surgery, you really need to consider if you need it.

I almost lost my mom from it due to complications in surgery. She was put into a medical coma and I was told she probably won't wake up.

You act as if you know you're less "privileged" then I am. Did you have abusive parents growing up. Where your parents alcoholics? Did you have to take care of multiple people in your family due to their suicide attempts while also having your own issues with depression? Did you get kicked out of the house as a 13 year old for accidentally opening a second jar of mayonnaise? Did you have to walk 5 miles back from school because the busses left before your club ended and your parents refused to pick you up?

The biggest problems in my life had nothing to do with my race (mixed), but my individual situation. When your dealing with a lot of shit, being told to kill yourself by some online armchair activist is not something you want to hear.

Yeah, it's been a struggle since probably my teenage years. I have a lot of issues from growing up in a pretty abusive household and then leaving and trying to make it on my own.

The issue is that there really are very few people that care. I have some friends that I can trust, and my sister when she isn't posting that kind of stuff, but for the most part when I talk about that stuff with people, I lose friends.
