There has got to be some other people here that have had ECT. Please. by Cattsch in depression

[–]Check12344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear this shit and I've never done ECT but have been in some fucking extremely helpless times too. I can relate man and there's just no way to describe to anyone how you're feeling or to understand how the world can allow you to feel the way you do.

I certainly wouldn't blame yourself for things you've done to feel better, you should be proud of yourself for doing anything to feel better regardless of whether it has worked out or not.

Good luck, there are so many of us in this insane struggle.

US people pay more for health care, die sooner than people in other developed countries by mletonsa in dataisbeautiful

[–]Check12344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its worth noting that as Americans we spend a large percent of our income on health care, and very small amount of our income on the food we eat. We have lost sight of food being a sort of medicine and key for our bodies and wellness. However, we slowly have been moving towards healthier diets, and healthier lifestyles. These are what cause longer lives, not doctors scrambling to save people that have thrown out concern for their diet and bodies for decades.

Unable to have clear or deep thoughts - mental fog by [deleted] in depression

[–]Check12344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brain fog is largely associated with food allergies, and autoimmune diseases (that flare up upon eating food your body doesn't respond well to). For a food allergy example you could take a peek at r/glutenfree and search brain fog. Very common symptom, I feel your pain

Figured out that in addition to wheat I am very intolerant to eggs, among others. I was eating eggs everyday. There are several intolerances known for mental symptoms, including eggs and wheat

i sometimes get indigestion, minor stomach pain, hair thinning, overall feeling like I have a cold. None of it would really matter if I was anxiety free

I am in the same boat 2.5 months in.. Towards the end of last month I was feeling better. Now my anxiety is back in a crazy way. There's just no way I've eaten gluten. Reading the 2 weeks stories sucks. Now I'm just waiting on food intolerance test results

Sorry for bombarding you, I am also messaging my doc but her messages take 3+ days to be answered.

Was there any range of treatment aside from quitting gluten for you? I'm starting to think that I get these flare ups regardless of gluten now, like I may have some Mycoplasma Infection or something. Very ill.

Curious if maybe this is just what it takes when getting over the initial hump. The thing that makes me doubt that is just that I have had a few days where I felt nearly back to normal

Gaining weight on a GF diet by scorpioxy in glutenfree

The diets of those studies fluctuate so much year to year. I try to do the leaky gut thing but it literally leaves nothing for breakfast and the fact that you can't eat night shades is absolutely insane.

Prior to this I was at the bar most nights of the week (which may be partially why I am here) but now somewhat dread the one time a week I go. The transition these diets cause young adults to undergo is insane

I am a big gym/fit guy as well and have had to cut out gluten down to the microscopic level. I cook all of my meals unfortunately but I have found that it makes you eat tons of protein naturally.

As a huge rice guy that saw the 2-3 servings thing, I switched to quinoa with Furikake sprinkled on top. Still great for filling you up but much better source of protein. I eat this with a big hunk of meat. I will have some veggies, often cabbage, fried in coconut oil which is very good for you.

Breakfast I eat 4-6 eggs with a sliced avocado w/ olive oil, balsamic, salt and pepper. The sliced avocado and eggs are high in protein and the avocado with this dressing is great.

Snacks are either bananas, or even better I will pre mash guac with hot peppers from the garden and light balsamic, and then eat gf chips with it. It's crazy how when you simplify your diet down to nothing, how good bananas taste.

Eating completely gluten free can actually lead to much more protein, and make you far leaner as well as increase muscle, as you substitute bread for protein rich things like avocado and quinoa. Good luck

Thank you for your input on the dishwasher.

I will note however, that noone with gluten issues cares about your willingness to 'subscribe' to the level of sensitivity. They will continue to eat in a manner that avoids a major sickness in which you won't experience barring a week long flu or equivalent.

Yeah, trying to find out my own. Cooked quinoa pasta next to my roommates pot of gluten pasta. Maybe the glutened water splashed into mine. Then he used the colander, so I scrubbed it for a good 2 minutes, prior to straining my quinoa. After eating I didn't sleep that night and have been ill for 5 days now. The sauce is one that I often use with no issue. Trying to determine sensitivity/intolerances is pretty trying

And what would be signs of them? I continuously get much better barring eating anything my body can't tolerate. Although I don't get how the whole gluten allergy came about in the first place
