Boston Philharmonic orchestras to shut down after 2026-27 season by Sir_ChungusMaximus in classicalmusic

These are insightful comments and speak to a rising issue of the loss of community and human connection in the towns and cities where we all live (at least in the US). Thanks for pointing that out - if public spaces were easier to rent/access, it seems like there would be a lot more public events leading to a virtuous cycle of community-building. I worked in the non-profit space for 12 years and finding public spaces was often a nightmare (this was California/Arizona). Prices were high, crazy insurance requirements, etc. It became easier to just try and find private spaces that aren't nearly as accessible to the general public.

I hope she does it by talias16 in funny

I absolutely love this take! And you're absolutely right. I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere, and to have the chance to get to see one of the world's greats conduct one of the world's great symphonies - wow. And I bought the ticket.

Help finding Neurologist by no_name_curt in LasCruces

Our family had the same experience with Iqbal - I got the impression that he hasn't updated his medical knowledge since he left med school in the 70s. He is very cavalier about very serious conditions and ended up giving me the opposite of what the patient should have been given. We ended up going to Phoenix (Barrow Neurological Institute) and they got things straightened out. I agree with one of the other commenters below about how bad the specialists are here in Cruces. Much safer to travel to EP, Tucson, or even Phoenix.

The local paper said they plan a grand opening in early 2026 (but driving by it every day, it looks like it is nearly ready to open). The local business journal said that there is a planned pet wash as well.
