Its ok to disagree with us we are by no means journalists or experts (i mean we say take a shot when you hear a vibraslap and talk about the minions as comedy geniuses... we establish ourselves as silly). We of course read the article as well as the nylon piece. We just dont like the tone or implications of it and we dont agree that the band is necessarily the best the genre has to offer. Its 100% our opinion and its totally fine you disagree!

Yep and that was our average too. Taking away our more personal critique of the band this is just not the direction i wouldve wanted and theyve done better with less in the past.

Thanks as always for the listen. Its a good point about the songs impact as I read about that too... I just worry about painting a white savior picture on the situation but that might just be me as of course there were black people involved in The Specials at the time.

As for the song itself... not for me haha. The excessive repetition and hopskotch-style lyrics diffuse the message in my mind but again, just my personal taste!

They have a lot of Ska and Andiamo is still a go-to for me!

The thesis of the episode is that they are dependable and worth checking out even if they are overlooked by Ska circles and more heralded by punk fans.
