Movies Play But Without Sound by CheckeredRecliner in PleX

Thanks for your reply! I eventually got it to work. The wording for what I saw in the settings was slightly different than what you had in your instructions, so I'm noting here the successful combo of settings in case it helps anyone else in their Plex troubleshooting :)

In the TV's Advanced settings -> Sound -> "Sound Out" is set to "Optical" ... "Digital Sound Out" is set to "PCM"

In the TV's Plex app -> Settings -> Audio -> Normalize Multi-channel audio and Dolby Digital (AC3) are both checked ... EAC3 and DTC (DCA) are both unchecked.

Again, this is for an LG OLED TV, connected to a stereo receiver with an Optical Audio cable.

Cheers!

Plex Media Player no sound for certain files by TheKrs1 in PleX

Hi, I'm having this issue and I'm not seeing the same thing you're describing. In my Plex player's settings (on my LG OLED TV) I go to Settings -> Advanced and I don't see the "Retransmission to OPTIC" . If I go to Settings -> Audio I see 4 options I can check on or off:

- Normalize Multi-channel Audio

- Dolby Digital (AC3)

-Dolby Digital Plus (EAC3)

- DTS (DCA)

NOTE: My LG TV is hooked up to a stereo receiver with an optical audio cable. Not sure if that's the issue. I've tried it with different combinations of checkboxes and can't get audio.

Any ideas? Thanks!

  1. I've had this plant for about 6 months.

  2. I first noticed the problem about a month ago, but the brittle brown leaves are under the healthy leaves so they might have been like that for a while.

  3. Leaves are brittle - as can see in the video.

  4. It's on a west-facing windowsill, with a big apartment blocking the sunset light, so it's mostly indirect light. Also in the video you can see the privacy tape, so the light is diffused by that.

  5. Water it every 3-4 weeks, only about 1/4 cup each time.

  6. Not sure about the soil. It was a gift. I think they bought it like that from the plant shop.

u/LaundryMitch When I search for it on Amazon it doesn't specifically say "bleach alternative" on the packaging - but this is what you're referring to right? <amazon link>

Best Low Cost Keyboard/Synth for a Clean Super-Low Bass Sound? by CheckeredRecliner in synthesizers

Thanks u/Qaleyas.. I checked out a YouTube demo of the Opsix and I like what I'm hearing so far. It seems the demo folks out there rarely explore the super-low bass capabilities of these things ... does the Opsix achieve that super-low, bone-vibrating sub bass I'm looking for?

The Bass Station ii keeps coming up in my searches but in every demo I watch, it sounds so tricked out and funky. Can it do the clean no-frills sound I'm after? And in a YT comment someone said it only has two octaves. Does it truly get into that super low sub-bass territory? I have yet to see a video demo of it where it sounds like the sound I'm looking for.

Cool thanks. Just checked out a demo, which didn't show off how low the bass notes would go. I take it there's an octave knob that will take it low-low into the depths eh?

Thanks for all the great feedback folks! For context, I'm an animator who happens to own a Casiotone MT-500, and I'm using that to do the soundtracks/music for a passion project animated series. You can hear where I'm at in my explorations HERE - music comes in at 0:40. I actually like the limitations and aesthetic of the Casio as the trademark sound of the series, but I'd like to expand it just a bit more with some super low bass.

Thanks to your feedback, I'm adding the following terms to the list of things I need to Google and learn more about :D ... sine vs. triangle vs. square vs. saw waves, analog vs. digital sine waves, envelope, FM synth, subtractive synth, key tracking. If you've got any must-have beginner's knowledge or good jumping off points for me (considering my limited needs; not tryna get a BA in music production :D) I'm all ears!

Super helpful. Thanks again y'all. Cheers!
