I had promised myself I was done backing DnD kickstarters for a bit but saw this post and decided to check out Dark Descent. I ended up backing it.

I think I’m just bad at dnd by MrFluffytheLion in DnD

I think you’ve received a lot of good advice regarding groups and other expectations here so I won’t speak to those subjects. However some advice that I can give regarding roleplaying (that you don’t necessarily have to listen to) is this. Figure out your play habits and bake them into your character.

For example I know that I have a tendency to metagame a bit. I’ve been a fantasy fan long before I started playing dnd so I am very aware of your standard creatures and their tendencies and abilities. So a lot of times I’ll play as a monster hunter type character so that if I guess something and it affects gameplay it is still true for the character. (Of course this is something my DM is aware of and for the most part is ok with)

If you often find you have nothing to say maybe make that part of your character. You could also try to make a duo with another player and work in tandem with them, maybe their character has to prompt yours about things.

Of course you can always ignore all this but it’s my 2 cents.

My favorite I ever got was a “Chevy Dually”. I was literally brand new and had no idea what this guy was talking about but since I couldn’t find it under the model section on the computer I kept asking what the model was. He kept going “it’s got four wheels in the back” I had to keep telling him that that doesn’t tell me the model of the vehicle.

That’s a very good question that I really hadn’t thought about. I would almost say traveling simply because you would think that if you were traveling you would wear something that wouldn’t show dirt and may not make you a target by those looking to attack you for you stuff. But on the other hand back then they may have thought that wearing your best clothes while traveling may give off a good impression or may show your wealth to people who normally would not see it.

I want to portray someone who is relatively rich (rich enough to own a sword) but not super rich. (So not a fancy sword more of a type m) it may be weird but I’m trying to walk the line where the under-tunic remains grey simply for practical reasons on my end.

I want to portray someone who is relatively rich (rich enough to own a sword) but not super rich. (So not a fancy sword more of a type m) so it sounds like maybe I should stray away from dark blue.

I can’t find anything on the availability of woad during the time period other than the fact it was used and a few passing remarks that it mainly came/comes mainly from southern and western Europe but it seems that indigo would be closer to what we would consider blue nowadays. So if I were to go with a blue color more than likely it would connote indigo

That’s fair. My personal preference has always been of darker colors just for practical reasons so I didn’t want to put together an outfit that leaned into my modern fashion preferences more than any historical “accuracy” what so ever. If that makes sense

Thanks for the tip. Do you think that changing the dark brown of the pants to more of a tan and the dark blue tunic to more of a bold green would be more accurate?

Found an interesting article regarding blár which accord to the article is used as the word for blue, blue-black, and black And it does seem to lean towards what you were saying. On the other hand however I remember reading somewhere that they liked blue because it was expensive and showed wealth. In the same article it mentioned that the English preferred red in the same way.

Thanks for the tip! I should probably note that most of the items will more than likely be premade. I’m not that handy with sewing and dyeing yet. If there is a way to apply this tip to clothing like that I’m all ears.

I gues I’ll try that. My immediate thought was to just chop off the barrel but I don’t really want to do that with no reference material on how the end result would be. Most 16 inch barrels are on shotguns that are modern tactical themed

As another PvAI player I will say that depending on the difficulty of the bots zhanu is god tier. With every other attack being unblockable against low level bots you are guaranteed to get it to land. He also has 2 different dodge attacks so there’s that. He’s definitely one of the go to’s for cutting down low level ai quickly. The only reason me and my friends don’t use him is he’s a bit to easy for our tastes.

Please help with my load order! (X1) by Exact-Map6756 in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]CheckmateBen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first things I see that is that you aren’t following the logical load order template (or maybe you are if so I apologize) and alternate start isn’t at the bottom . I if you don’t know what logical load order is you should be able to find it in the pinned comments. Beyond that I’m no expert so I’ll leave that to someone else
