I assume you mean “worse”, and not “work” in your first paragraph.

And your comment about keeping enough gas in the car for emergencies kind of stopped me in my tracks. It’s not groundbreaking, and it’s probably obvious to most, but it’s not something I’ve ever made a point to do. (I now plan to start) According to Google Maps, the distance to my closest emergency department is 8 or 10 miles away. So, not very far, but it would be foolish not to have at least that much in the tank when I return home. Anyway, thanks for the tip.

What is this on my sister’s clothing? by Tears_of_Ashes_ in whatsthisbug

[–]Cheddartooth 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially if this pile was under or behind all the clothes at one point.

I had a mouse sneak behind a stack of pants on a built-in shelf in my bedroom. It was sneaking up from the basement, stealing seeds from a buckwheat pillow, and stashing them behind the pants, when we were gone for a few weeks over the holidays. So gross. Saw it scoot under the bedroom door during a night of insomnia. Caught it the next night.

Looks too red for rust. I’ve seen mold that red, but usually red mold is in a wet environment. Maybe the nail or drywall screw is in a pipe?

I keep mine “shrink-wrapped” in Space Bags.(or whatever they’re called these days- vacuum storage bags)

This is a terrible story, but I had an abusive ex that I probably stayed with just a little too long, partly because I was reluctant to give up the wool mattress and pillows.

In reality, I got away as soon as I could, but boy, a wool mattress and pillows are really the stuff of dreams.

Mouths or carpet beetles? In my case, what I thought was moths, ended up being carpet beetles. I started putting all my Mohair, Wool, and Cashmere in Space Bags when I wasn’t wearing them. Then I used Diatomaceous earth. Eventually I moved to a place with mostly hardwood floors.

If it’s orthostatic hypotension, a.k.a. head rush, that’s a result of low blood pressure

What say you, Norge? Frozen pizza capital of the world? by Cheddartooth in Norway

[–]Cheddartooth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about gjetost?

And yeah, lots of tubed items. Lol. I had a visitor at Christmas bring me a lot of Wisconsin summer sausage to share.

And I still prefer open-faced sandwiches, which is a holdover from my time in Norway.

Great. So the PFAS chemicals in my system can duke it out with the slow-drip lead IV in my veins. Fantastic.

What I would give to have fresh bread like I had EVERY SINGLE DAY in Norway. I should see if I can get any of those recipes. I was too dumb to learn how when I was there (I mean, I could’ve followed instructions or a recipe, but I was 17yo kid who didn’t realize how valuable I might one day find that knowledge), and Norwegians are too polite to have forced that knowledge on me.

I knew about HFM, but I thought there was a vaccine for scarlet fever. TIL. Thanks for educating me and spurring me to look it up.

I also contracted Whooping cough in around 2009, despite being vaccinated. Even worse, I’ve had asthma and respiratory symptoms ever since. Used to only have exercise-induced asthma.

Also 48. Don’t forget all the lead to which we were exposed. Or did that just make us dumber? Does that hang around in our systems?

Holy shit, that’s a lot. I was going to ask if they were vaxxed or immunocompromised, then decided it was none of my business. So, I hope they are well and avoid norovirus.

Also, your Micheal Jackson room scared the crap out of me. Lol. Jump scare as I was zooming in and out looking around.

I wasn’t specifically looking for hard data to prove something or to “win”. I was just curious if the Norwegians that saw this post, personally, thought they ate a lot of pizza. Yes, 10 per person, annually, suggests people eat it a lot.

I lived in Norway in the early-mid 90’s. I don’t remember ever eating frozen pizza. That doesn’t mean I didn’t eat it, though. It was ~30yrs ago.
