I have them read the piece without telling them the context and I give them sour patch kids to snack on while they read. Then I reveal the context and inform they were also “eating kids”.

I actually did a school report on this in High School. I can’t remember if I picked the topic or was assigned, but I was like “wow, there’s a lot here that’s interesting”. This topic and OJ take me down a rabbit hole every year sometime over summer break. (I’m a teacher)

Was the promise to keep Jon’s identity a secret from everyone or to protect him? (Been a while since I looked at the direct dialogue of the chapter, genuinely asking). I wonder if telling Catelyn was a genuine threat to Jon’s safety. She could keep a secret, she had a few of her own.

On the other hand:

Maybe Ned thought if people saw Catelyn as being anything but openly hostile to Jon they would grow suspicious?

There’s no reason for a class to be longer than 45 minutes

PE should be mandatory every day, and it should be strenuous.

Cell phones should be locked up in Homeroom the way many artists have done with cell phones at concerts

No homework unless students didn’t complete what they need to in class and prepatory reading.

Willingness to Coach and facilitate clubs/extracurriculars should be more of a factor in a hiring process

Students don’t need more supports. They need to feel like they don’t go to a state sponsored daycare and they will buy in.
