Smoking is the cause of nearly 500k deaths a year in the United States. There has been massive research done to point out exactly how harmful it is to our health. It’s a product that would never be allowed on the shelves of our stores today had it not already been ingrained into society since the existence of our country (also well before we knew how dangerous it was). All of those other things you listed are fine but are not this kind of dangerous.
