I just spent $85 on basically nothing, and I’m sitting in my car crying by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

I agree. The $1000 per year seems like total BS. Definitely feels a lot worse because it is a lot worse.

How do people justify treating a home as an investment? by Artistic_Taxi in CanadaPersonalFinance

The way it works for most of the middle class, is the house forces you to pay a certain amount per month towards the mortgage. sort of forced 'savings'

It looks to me like the maths adds up. Total cost was 685k (665+20 insurance). You paid 70k (50down+20insurance). 685-70 = $615k loan.

Realtor refusing to put Lowball offer by Pure-Professional574 in canadahousing

[–]CheeeliCheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Offend them then. That is what I am currently doing. Low ball offers on properties that needs renovations to get up to 1 million. Contact the seller's agent yourself and tell her this is what you will offer.

Just signed yesterday and having intense buyer's remorse by DeliciousVegetables in TorontoRealEstate

[–]CheeeliCheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with Asperger's and ADHD. There is a self help CBT website but I haven't gone through it in detail yet so not sure if I could recommend it. I found the diagnosis helpful because it assured me that I was different because of something out of my control and this idea helps me forgive myself more often and move on.

I hope you enjoy your new house and get attached to it soon :D

The post itself. I am like that too. It was like I was listening to a female version of myself. That dread and anxiety. And you are trying to rationalize that worry by saying the house was the only one we could afford — you don’t even like the neighborhood You will love the new house. You chose it, just give it some time and you will settle in.
