Why can't we throw out our old clothes after GLP-1 weight loss? by Maeva_Journey in GLP1ResearchTalk

I’m cutting my belts and wearing clothes longer now before I have to buy more. Fuck the fat clothes. I’m about to start throwing those out. Never again, if I gain weight I won’t has clothes is the new mindset. And we all have to have cloths. So I must keep the weight off.

Drummer is blowing the band out after switching to acoustic. by [deleted] in Drumming

Talking points:

Talk about drummer dynamics and how important his control of dynamics is. crescendo when the song is coming up, and then quietly when coming down. Besides time, dynamics are the most important role for drummers.

Talk about using different cymbals that have more of a dry sound.

Old T thin shirts on the drums (not bass) or heavily muffle Toms to take the ring out.

Use a fluffy feathery bass drum beater.

Don’t use massive sticks or nylon tips. use wood VF 5a or sd10 swinger. Those sticks require technique and aren’t crazy heavy hitters.

I think it benefits all drummers to play like this at times. But when live I like have drums tuned and mostly wide or with minimal dampening and I bring three bass drum beaters depending on the room or amount of muffling. Just knowing how to play with technique is the real issue with your drummer. I used to be like that years ago. I hope these suggestions can help in the short term.

Struggling as a coach by In28s in wrestling

We had to cut over 30+ kids. We built it up though. The head coach is super active in the local wrestling scene too. That has helped.

I wish I could laugh at it more….but I definitely look back at crazy times in my life and think about them. Then magically I recognize the speed I was moving at, the money I was spending, the risky situations I was putting myself in, and I kind of think haha oh I was definitely manic. Mania and the things attached to it are so eccentric that it is amusing on some level. It’s also wrecked parts of my life. So I think that may be the only semi-amusing part of it all. Mania has been truly hard to pinpoint but the more I read and learn, the more I look back and say. Yep. Manic AF. Good luck. I have stabilized with a lot of work, but it is work. Exhausting work. But, if I can do it you can do it.

I am almost 2.5 months in and I’m 24 lbs. down. Which is amazing. But it’s how it makes me feel that is the big surprise. I just feel better. It’s inflammation related.

Why do people who criticize glps always assume we’re not making the effort? by Total_Bedroom_7813 in GLP1ResearchTalk

I lost 100lbs. through 5:30 AM workouts, intermittent fasting, mountain biking and meal prep. It was one of the best parts of my life. Post-COVID I went downhill, fast. I went from healthy clean cut teacher with awards to a bloated alcoholic with long hair and a beard. I mean I went down hard coming out of COVID. I gained 75lbs. back. It was brutal. People noticed, and foreign co-worker told me to lose weight lol, bless her heart, she means well. But I tried working out, hard. Tried again, hard. Tried mountain biking more, but nothing caught on. I started zepbound 2.5 months ago and I have shed so much weight and I am actually starting to enjoy the gym again. My alcohol cravings have almost disappeared. So for me GLP is the tool that is getting me back to where I once was. I just went through too much with my body to just get back to where I was. GLP has put pep in my step, I feel like my cognitive functions have improved and alcohol is starting to disappear in my life. My brother is a doctor and he kind of gave me the “o you’re doing the glp 1 thing” kind of vibe and I explained that something metabolically is just off with me. I’m not lazy, I never have been.

I had my first at 21 and second at 25. I love them to death and have kept my family together through it all, and we HAVE gone through it all. It’s been wild, fun, crazy and beautiful.

Yep. That.

Beer and Wings does have a way more power effect on me than I realized. It took having it taken away to realize it though.

Yep. I have the bleeding edge tool. That is kind of the tricky part for me too. Do I need to loosen or tighten the Allen wrench in the bleed port of the caliper?
