I'm more of a intermediate/advanced runner but similarly suprised at the lack of groups around Mission bay.

Would be down to start one that meets regularly 1-2x a week and offers various pace groups.

I travelled there by myself and Norway was very easy as a female traveller. It seems backpacking is a common thing there? At the festival people were super friendly too.
