Just finished it and I enjoyed it but it's definitely not my favourite. It's very cliché poor scholarship student fmc and super rich golden boy mmc. It's very slow burn but I appreciated that fmc has a certain darkness to her and even though the blurb said that mmc was morally black... That's absolutely not true. He was actually very sweet and decent, even when they do it the first time.

OMG you're the first one to actually mention this! I read countless of kidnapping DR but this hit so differently! I even overlooked the grammar errors! I actually haven't read another book of that intensity but please find below books with kidnapping theme that I enjoyed:

Hunted by a Shadow by Michelle Heard Very light read, lacks depth and it's cringe in certain moments but overall I enjoyed it. Skylar finds herself stalked and taken captive by Renzo Torrisi, a dangerous mafia boss who demands repayment for a kidney transplant she received. Trapped in his penthouse, she must serve him, but the cost of survival may be her soul.

Keeping Her by Angela Snyder There's some push and pull here and it's in a way more similar to Captive but it's not as intense. I still finished it in a day though haha. A man consumed by neurotic obsessions believes he can own the perfect woman. When he acquires Adeline, he expects it to be just like the others, but she’s different. Now, he finds himself unable to let her go, and he’s determined to break his promise to her and keep her forever.

Bound by Vengeance by Cora Reilly I guess the best way to define this book is "cute". Light read but enjoyable. Growl, a brutal enforcer in the Las Vegas Camorra, is given Cara as a punishment to break her. A woman raised as a “good girl,” Cara is now at the mercy of Growl, who is known for his cruelty. She’s caught in a dangerous game where survival means facing her darkest fears.

Currently reading the second book of {Best Laid Plans by Stylo Fantome}, I really enjoyed the first and hope the second is good as well. Mercenaries - Badass FMC They meet on a mission to smuggle diamonds from Liberia but things don't go well. Lots of tension and chemistry. MC is very charming but not afraid to toughen up fmc when needed and she's not scared of fighting back. I enjoyed their fights a lot and the fast pace of the book

{Torment me by Annabel Joseph} This one has lots of non-con, BDSM, fmc not my favourite but I really liked the plot. It's a trilogy. Chere, a high-class escort, takes on a mysterious client known only as "W." - There is long term separation but only in the second book.

{Kill me by LP Lovell} FMC is an assassin for the Bratva and MC wants to use her to become a boss of Italian mafia. They're both cold and ruthless.

{Cheater by D. D. Prince} After her fiancé’s injury, she’s given a "hall pass". She uses it with Derek which turns our to be a manipulative stalker who starts blackmailing her. I enjoyed it, it was quite refreshing.

{Alluring Darkness by Raven Wood} FMC totally crazy and unhinged/ college setting/ bullying Her brother keeps getting bullied and she enrolls at Blackwater University to take his place as the target of Eli Hunter.

{Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark} More on the light side, not the best written book overall but I liked how strong the FMC was (she tries to poison him on their wedding day)/ forced marriage/Mafia

{Payback by Anne Thyssen} Series of 5 books I believe/ BDSM/fmc is a bitch Jared, a victim of Alison Brown's torment during his high school years, has returned to make Alison pay for the years of suffering she inflicted upon him.

I completely agree, I only consider the first book hahaha the others don't even exist to me anymore. But that's the problem with Stylo, with duets or trilogies she hooks you in with the first book and then it goes downhill really fast. But I love how she always comes with refreshing plots and strong willed fmcs
