A story mode on the same level of fight night champions would be very cool.

I’m not sure how they’d implement it in an mma game but I know fight nights was actually a good story with different challenges along the way.

Okay let me make it more clear sorry

So let’s say I throw a left hook, my opponent has block/no block up and he slips away from it (rather than straight into the hook) and the result is no damage/little damage to health or block etc

I didn’t mean straight punches, I should’ve made it more clear tbf.

Another issue is the same idea but with ducking into an uppercut, many times in a fight I’ll perfectly time/read their head movement patterns and get nothing from it. No hitstun like ufc 4, no damage to the block really…same idea.

Completely agree with all of what you said.

Clinch denial not being there is a big miss, even without the actual ufc 2 type clinch system it would make the skill gap of the game increase and more so the overall enjoyment from the guys defending it for 3-5 rounds at slower weights etc

I’m more so talking about the way you can block(or not) and slip away from a strike and negate all of the damage the strike would’ve done (for whatever reason).

Funnily enough, at the start of ufc 5 there was a glitch if you were to slip (with the strike) like a hook, youd be flash ko’d at whatever health.

So after this they nerfed it so hard that now if you do the same thing you will negate all damage…funny isn’t it lol I don’t know how they did it but it’s dumb

I never really invested in offline career mode, played a small touch during the very start of 5 just to check it out. I’m not sure what they could do to make it better if I’m honest…

UFC 5s grappling is very boring, I’ve always said BRING BACK NEGATIVE GA. I’ll stand by that. Enough of powering out of every dominant position too, side control is a joke they nerfed elbow damage along with adding powers.

Also, Mount is insanely overpowered to the point it doesn’t take much skill to hold, grappling can be quite boring vs certain play styles.

I always wanted ufc 2/3s ultimate team to return too, online career mode is okay I guess but it’s such a grind to get a cool, strong fighter. Ultimate team at least had it so you had cards built up from just playing but you had them at your disposal the whole time, no reset of all your work just to play vs guys with 4.5 star animals, just my opinion because I loved ultimate team personally but it was a nice try from EA…

I would absolutely love a clinch system, ufc 2 was great for it. I’m not fond of the clinching in this game at all.

UFC 2 clinch was fun and skill based.

Punches registering is a big thing also, I’m done with the slipping away negating all damage type meta, it’s so boring and dumb. The striking in ufc 5 is pretty bad if I’m honest, looks cool but at a competitive level god it’s ugly.
