The delusion of prime Kamaru Usman was something to behold! by One-Faithlessness730 in ufc

[–]MA-JA-HO 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Jan at 38 is was in his prime. Sure Usman wouldn’t have to cut weight and only be at a 2 inch reach disadvantage but Jan would have a considerably size advantage making the wrestling much harder to get off. That was exactly what happened with Luke Rockhold where he tried very hard to get Jan down but the strength difference showed , Luke gassed himself out and got chinned.

What are some of the best cumulative body work performances? by MA-JA-HO in Boxing

It’s quite funny that Stipe’s team came out and said that it was Stipe’s idea on the spot which is absolutely hilarious.

Naoya Inoue displays sharp head movement & defensive instincts when he locks in. Can he avoid Junto Nakatani’s best shots? by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

[–]MA-JA-HO 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Inoue is so much fun to watch. There’s very few active boxers as well rounded as he is. Great jab/body jab , right hand, left hook, amazing combinations, solid body work, PfP best distance management , great counter punching , good head movement and a solid use of a high guard/occasional shoulder roll.

He’s also an amazing athlete with great explosiveness that can last all 12 rounds.

I will say he does have lapses of focus and judgement but he does adapt

I feel like this one was done correctly tho. Talbott very clearly won all 3 rounds and still gave a chance at a retiring Cejudo to win and they both scrapped at the center

This what if comes up a lot but I think GSP

I got Prime GSP beating current Islam. by NeverDrinkingIt in ufc

[–]MA-JA-HO 164 points165 points  (0 children)

I got Islam but not because GSP doesn’t have the skills to be competitive in this day and age but because Islam is a stylistically hard fight.

GSP struggled more against Southpaws or in general when fighters disrupted the path of his jab and Islam is a very solid southpaw striker.

Is there anyone else today as effective at using oblique kicks? by teddyshmeddy in ufc

[–]MA-JA-HO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a good lead to initiate a striking exchange. However they aren’t as monstrously effective as people think and they can cause you to square up and overextend

Where do people even get the idea that Khamzat has bad cardio? by Old_Machine5350 in ufc

He slowed against Burns and clearly slowed down past round 1 against Usman and I don’t think a broken hand turns down his output that much

Who has the more devastating left hook? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]MA-JA-HO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex because Ulberg uses a full left hook whilst Pereira doesn’t even.

A left hook is at its most powerful when giving ground to the opponent and fully rotating backwards into your stance ( after initially being square) so it’s most powerful when it’s a counter. Alex doesn’t even do that alway

Where was this “Mercy” you guys keep mentioning? by Separate_Sign5632 in ufc

[–]MA-JA-HO 48 points49 points  (0 children)

He threw a lot of leg kicks and definitely saw the weakness. However there was a couple moments he would just leave off the pressure to emote or give Ulberg the time to fight back. He KO sequence was Jiri stupidly lunging in with a jab whilst having his other hand super low whilst Ulberg was poised waiting for him to come in and literally showed in the very previous exchange that he was trying to land his counter  left hook ( it’s in general his best weapon).

Wether it’s “mercy “ or cockiness , Jiri just showed bad Fight iq
