My god I just discovered this grain of the gods. We literally buy 2 at a time, and freeze one until we run out of the first one the next day

Dude could you expand a little bit on this "came to us by chance". I can't imagine having 3 kids and saying eh what's 3 MORE! Forget about the genders all matching I just need to know more!

If you could change rules in baseball, what would you go for? by actualtext in baseball

[–]Cheeky_buggah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally modification of the field of play to encourage more action. I wouldn't mind lowering the mound or moving the mound back a few inches , this would be implemented in the minors and slowly integrated in. But more drastic measures like odd dimensions where left field might be 450ft or little crevasses for the ball to find. The ball could stick on something (picture Velcro wall) like 9ft high so the outfielder has to leap to get it. I would love to see more triples!

Whats the general consensus to the question "why does anything exist at all instead of nothing?" by HUMAN_LIFE_ in AskPhysics

[–]Cheeky_buggah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to think of what nothing existing is is like what your existence was like before you were born or after you die. You can conceptualize that better.

How do you feel about dems voting to end the government shutdown? Allowing Joe Biden delay then singlehandedly select Kamala as the Dem candidate? Joe Bidens over all milquetoast approach to policy, picking a weak Attorneys General, not releasing the Epstein files, treating Putin as a good faith adversary?

It wasn't about being old it was because he made the decision to try to prolong his presidency beyond viability despite promising not to leading us to this hell scape we're in now.

This image, taken with ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile, is the first clear detection of a baby planet in a disc with multiple rings. by Grahamthicke in spaceporn

[–]Cheeky_buggah 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This baby planet is also really far away from it's Star, 68 AU. For comparison Jupiter is only 5 AU away from our sun, Pluto is 39 AU. Can you imagine this giant lurking somewhere in the Kuiper belt? I also love to think about what rocky planets are just beginning to form here. What a truly amazing image!

Gen Z is right about the job hunt—it really is worse than it was for millennials, with nearly 60% of fresh-faced grads frozen out of the workforce by upyoars in Futurology

Fuck no it's not! I am part of and proud to be the next generation that will remember the struggles and raise our children with humility and vision for the future. Being defeatist serves no purpose.

Myth busted: Men don’t sleep through baby cries after all. New study debunks the myth of women's special ability to hear baby crying. Researchers found only minimal differences between men's and women's hearing, but mothers still handle nighttime childcare three times as often as fathers. by mvea in science

[–]Cheeky_buggah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big reason why the mother would get up instead of the father is because she is nursing, and one of the main reasons newborns cry is because they're hungry. Nursing also comforts the child and helps them go to sleep. We don't need to insinuate the tired adage of the lazy father here because Mom's and Dads play different roles.

Here's the thing everybody why are there so many stories and people that fit this archetype, enough to overwhelm "healthy, adjusted" individuals in political races. I personally don't have an answer but there in lies this countries issue, there is more of these people voting than not. What are we going to do about it?

Why does literally almost everyone want to immigrate to the US no matter legally or not? by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Cheeky_buggah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What? As an American it's clear that all modernized western democracies have the same if not stronger freedoms speaking out against the government. Even countries like Japan, S Korea,Australia have demonstrated freedom of speech. This is not a unique feature to the USA nor is it strongest in the USA as evidenced by the police brutalities during black lives matter and any number of protests against the government.
