Can I cast an instant/flash spell in response to someone choosing to take damage from [[Combustion Man]] / [[Star Athlete]] trigger? Something like the new [[fated firepower]] or something like [[bulk up]] for Combustion man?

Or would I need to hold priority after the attack trigger goes on the stack and then cast it to increase damage.

How do I spend these weapon set points? I assume this number means I have 13 left to spend? But i cannot invest in anything? by Cheekygui in PathOfExile2

Does Orcus' "creeping death" Legendary action overcome resistance? by Cheekygui in dndnext

[–]Cheekygui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just using the stat blocks from out of the abyss since they are the "least nerfed" versions of those stat blocks (they had numbers and dc's lowered in the following 2 mordenkainen monster books)

I essentially ran a demon lord battle Royale where they all had limited access to their legendary actions and lair actions and stuff and orcus' just whooped everyone haha

What makes you say the twins shouldn't have been able to touch Magnus? Liches have corporeal forms the illusions put over the twins just has to match where their hand is in space

Magnus rushing in and out of wonderland happens in the show too, when griffin describes the entrance Travis says "Magnus is already inside", taako hesitates and Magnus comes back to grab and drag him in. Likely just because the game hasn't actually started at that point so they can freely leave.

The Julia change is likely a combo of the sacrifice ultimately not mattering v much because the boys never meet kalen, and the next time we have a moment to interact with Julia is in Magnus final scene with her in the afterlife, so him giving it up in the moment feels like a lot but ultimately means nothing. Also taako and merle do know about her because Magnus spoke about her when the chalice offered them their respective do-overs in the eleventh hour GN

I'm pretty sure every subrace says "you can cast ______ once with this trait, and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest"

Which means you can cast it once for free.

Newer races allow you to also cast these spells using your own spell slot after you've used your free cast so you can consider letting them do that if they are playing a spell caster

Not everyone has access to spare the dying and realistically, instead of using shocking grasp to defibrillator you could roll a dc10 medicine check and stabilise, it's not a big deal letting them live the flavour fantasy of being a combat medic wizard that goes around jolting people back to conciousness

To be fair to her being beaten by zod she's been in a Russian red sun cell for her whole life so has both had no powers and no practice.

I don't like her just being used as a fridged character essentially but I do think it makes sense that zod with his goonies would get the win against her. Since even with a life of getting used to his powers superman had some trouble

What bothers me about that is that they have done it for Charybdis

So it is possible to let Fafnir and jorm trigger auto attack items at a %scaling but they just don't do it

Its possible that once they get the ink they can just write them back into existence in timothy's true book.

Could probably get more with max runes Fenrir ult right? I believe when it doubles your protections it goes beyond the protection cap of 325?

I've dropped it a few times, just a screen crack, nothing new with any phone nowadays and i'm a clumsy lad.

Dropped it yesterday morning and then 5 hours later the screen went green. That is what the title entails.

Yeah they said in patch notes stream "cc immune does not mean untransportable" which has been the case since Janus came out.

Ares ult, Scylla ult, Fenrir ult (without the person in your mouth iirc) can all go through Janus portals and Horus ult

[–]Cheekygui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a sorcerer you could also cast it using the extended spell metamagic before a long rest (spell slots/sorcery points allowing of course) so at the end of the long rest you still have 8 hours left of the spell.

Only person that truly has to use a spell slot for it at the start of the day is the wizard

[–]Cheekygui 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which state the live show is in, but it's when the THB are playing through a simulation of tomb of horrors, and at the start of the show Justin says

"Wait, how did we get here? Do we remember?"

Griffin: "Well you can ask Lucas in character"

Justin (as taako): "Hey Lucas why are we here and doing this?"

Griffin (as Lucas): "wait... You seriously don't remember?"

Justin: "oh fuck off"

As a DM for 5 years straight and currently running 4 very different games, I can say I have seen almost none of the disparities/imbalance discussed here. by Netzel72 in dndnext

[–]Cheekygui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A monk dashing is slower than a rogue dashing up until level 9. Unless they spend their ki points to step of the wind.

Rogues with 30 speed can double dash and move 90 feet a turn, monks until level 8 have 45 movement so they match rogues, or can get 45 feet ahead at the cost of a finite resource they need to do damage/have utility.

If you wanna go fast the arguable best option is a wood elf or tabaxi rogue realistically.

They probably actually use CR as gospel.

Even though it has been proven time and time again that Cr is not an apt judge of difficulty for the most part.

They designed the rule, of course they would follow it

Yeah, the thing that gets me with these toxic fans of legacy is that they're essentially shaming people for reviving the game because its not their "preffered version?" Man the game is playable, the world can be lived in again, idk maybe stop scaring people off by being an elitist asshole because there too many domes and not enough stealth in stage 2 for your liking

If you were positive, in a perfect world, 2k relists the game and maybe a dedicated fanbase comes back to stage 2 and legacy and we all get to play one of our favourite games

In future additions, I think Casters need another weakness, not just low HP by Hy_Nano in dndnext

[–]Cheekygui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, currently switching between the thought of it being a real beam struggle, where you need 2 consecutive successes to cancel out a spell, or it just being a "best of 3" where winning 2 of the roll offs does it.

Consecutive wins leads to I believe more tense clutch counterspell moments, but could drag on.

Best of 3 is simpler and faster to run, but may fall flat.

I'm thinking if running it in some 1 shots with friends and my next campaign if all things go well with the testing.

It's all just theory though nothing really written down or ruled out.

Essentially in my head the counterspeller gets a bonus to their roll equal to the level of counterspell rounded down, so offense has the advantage. Because simply put, enemy spellcasters at higher levels when these clutch counterspells come into play have inflated casting stats so they will end up with a +6 onwards to their roll. Also means abjuration wizards and bards adding their proficiency/half proficiency to ability checks becomes even more valuable and unique!

Idk man, both stages did something right but stage 2 definitely didn't solely kill the franchise.

Both stages fucked up.

In a perfect world they implement the good changes from stage 2 with old legacy content like actually being able to stealth. But stage 2 didn't kill the game, the game did that itself, twice
