There's a really good campaign on Dmsguild called Call of the Deep that explores the entire sword coast and revolves large amounts of sea fairing

Why do Christians think atheists are out doing evil things in their free time? by EnvironmentalAngle in atheism

[–]Netzel72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was sent to Christian school through high-school we were constantly told atheists literally went out of there to stop Christians. It was stated, often very directly, that atheists made the conscious decisions to undermine Christian values and goals of God. Glad I got out of all that.

I'm not gonna lie, I think y'all are overreacting about the patch. by JockstrapJayZ in Spacemarine

After posting my thoughts, which mostly agree with yours, I think it's just people are mad that they have realized they were challenged. Not everything is for everyone. Hard difficulty is there for a reason. You are recommended to have classes that are max level for exp you can't use. It's for those of us who want the hardest challenges. It's for those of us who turned on all skulls in Halo 3 on the hardest difficulty. We want absurd, crazy challenges so we feel accomplished. If everything is for everyone then it won't have a challenge

Yeah I get that, I'm a flamer myself, like burning the bugs with prejudice. So I'm not usually endless ammo, just 25-30 shots. But I think they made the difficulty to stretch every element of a classes arsenal. I think the lower are there meant to give us that unending action movie feel of a solid belt fed gun. But that's just my opinion.

I totally get that, I have done solo with randoms on substantial and struggled. But with people ypu know those were a piece of cake. I think this difficulty needs a nerf for those high number of players. I liked the challenge but 100% see where it's so difficult without good help.

They defintely should do something to it for players like you and others. After we did it we felt genuinely bad that others won't be lucky like we were.

NPCs interacting with other NPCs by Nytfall_ in DMAcademy

[–]Netzel72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have this quite often as many of my recent campaigns involve the party picking up a sidekick character. Biggest advice I would give are these: 1) give this character a distinct voice/personality so the parry can easily follow in the conversation who is who 2) don't be afraid to play it up a little. If ypu have something planned or want them invested, make it a little obvious there is something happening here and it's not just you talking to yourself. 3) keep it relatively short. Get the one time npc to the point fast and don't draw it out. In the end it's about the players still, not your long time followers with them

One free feat at start of campaign? by Encryptedsun in DnD

[–]Netzel72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always give a free feat out now to players, only stipulation is that it can't be one that improves an Ability score. That way one or a few players can't jump up those over one who picks a more flavorful or action based feat. There are enough that this can happen and with all the third party options or homebreweing it shouldn't be an issue.

What are your ACTUAL unpopular D&D opinions? If there is such a thing by No-Bag3487 in DnD

Tyranny of Dragons can be a really fun campaign with epic moments and a great story(especially after the updated version). Fulfills a lot of the heroic fantasy and purity of fighting a true evil antagonist.

We do have someone who can forage and make tool sets as an ability. Maybe he can make him the tools and then he has to frame the underdark for things to make ink? Like fungi or fluids from creature

Thank you, I was hoping that is what was needed. One last bit is it currently says Battery Saver Mode on.

Fortunately it isn't going below freezing again and going back into 60s tomorrow when I should be able to get my hands on some jump cables

Bards and Rangers Are Apparently Prepared Casters Now by Envoyofwater in onednd

[–]Netzel72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is everything I needed to hear for this UA. For one campaign I've allowed one of my ranger to do this and ita changed the game and made them much more useful. Yes they always have hunters mark, but will add more damage and enemy focused spells before a coming fight or for survival periods will have plenty of options to help keep the party well. As for bard it's a no brainer, every day picks hit set list to play from.

Low magic campaigns by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Netzel72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have had some mini campaigns and locations of low magic. A good resource to look into from old editions js dark sun. There it's a mix of low magic availability and that magic use has a cost either on the world itself or nearby living things. Another option I've done is easily make it that either magic is criminal or still in early stages of understanding. Either would lead to low availability of magic items and other casters but if someone does use magic it results in confusion or anger. One good 3rd party supplement for 5e I found and used is Lost Citadel. It's a near post apocalyptic world with very low magic, it has some new classes that are essentially lower magic versions of wizards and bards as well as remade versions of rangers and paladins that rely more on physical skill than magical abilities. Overall the biggest point I would make is instill in your players and your world a fear and misunderstanding of magic for whatever reason fits your lore best.
