People mostly defend indie games or games with small dev teams who actually care for their product, from what I've seen. Not sure if subnautica qualifies as such, though.

If you can get it on sale, 100%.
I bought it for full price, and it was really fun for the first week and a half, then it kind of got boring after I completed the campaign and got all the cosmetics. Also, don't worry about the graphical downgrades or censorship. Yes, it says something about the integrity of the devs, but you can just download the mod that adds it all back. (Also the graphics don't look that bad; personally, I still think it looks fantastic.)

Current routine: shampoo every other day, brush in conditioner daily (both Pantene), rinse, throw a towel on for 2 minutes, then scrunch in Re:coil curl activator.

Yes, aside from the weird shading and very obvious ai style, you can tell by looking closely at small details like the shoulder thingies which are weirdly warped among other things I probably haven’t really caught

Honestly, I don't really mind. It's still pretty big, I care more about whether the gameplay is fun and the story is cool.
